It is more than intimated that the
Pennsylvania and New York Central
railroads have laid themselves liable
to fines aggregating $30,000,000 each
for rebating in favor of the Standard
Oil Co This may be a quick way to
bring about government ownership
of the railroads . Fine them and take
the roads for the fines.

NATIONAL BISCUIT COMPANY
GENERAL MANAGER
FOR MASSENGALE
Man of National Experience
Goes With Atlanta Agency.
Mr. S. K. Davidson, advertising
manager of Uncle Remus's Magazine,
has acepted the position of general
manager of the Masseugale Advertis
ing Agency, and will assume his new
duties immediately.
Mr. Davidson is widely recognized
not alone as one of the best advertis
ing extverts in the South, but also has
the reputation of being one of the very
best in the entire country. For this
reason, when the publishers of Un
cle Remus's Magazine decided to is
sue this great publication, after a
careful canvass of the best men in
America for assuming the responsible
positio of advertising manager, many
were considered, but Mr. Davidson
was finally selected as being the best
fitted and equipped for handling this
most important department of a new
public at ion distinctvely Southern but
at the same time national in its scope.
Although Mr. Davidson has been
urged to accept the general manage
ment of the Massengale Advertising
Agency for some time, he has abso
lutely refused to consider any propo
sition until such time as his policy
in directing his department of Uncle
Remus's Magazine was so thorough
ly and practically established that
it was placed on a permanent basis
And it was not until this wa# w
com: "..shed and Mr Davidson was
confident that his leaving would in
no possible way interfere with the
advancement and progress of Uncle
Remus's that he finally consented to
assume the management of the Mas
sengale forces.

STRUCK IN MOUTH BY
SHARP HORN OF COW
Painful Accident To A Little
Child Here.
L ...
The little five year old son of F
Walter Chappell is at the Americus
Hospital where he is being treated
for a rather peculiar accident—a
puncture in the mouth from the sharp
horn of a cow. The little boy was
feeding the cow, and stooped to pick
up a corn shuck just as the animal
raised her head. The sharp horn
was driven deep into his mouth, pro
ducing a very painful wound. He
was brought at once to the hospital
for attention and is now getting along
well.
