THE AMIRICUS DAILY TIMES-RECORDER, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2, 1907
idnt and his party, will arrive about
8 a. m. At the landing the civic
courtesies will he extended. The
President will be escorted to the
m re.moth Jai Alai building, where
he will* deliver an address. This acl

portant the President will make dur
ing his'entire trip. A luncheon at the
Jeffersonian Hotel will loliow and
then the party will leave for another
section of the journey, that from St.
Louis to Cairo.
The boat will leave St. Louis at 3
o'clock Thursday morning. The Gov
ernors will accompany the Presiden
tial party, using the Alton, a sister
boat of the Mississippi. A great de
monstration will mark the Presi
dent's departure from St. Louis. Ev
ery steamer and tug on the river will
take part and a flotilla of river craft
will accompany the party for miles
down the Mississippi.
The entertainment of the Presi
dent in St. Louis has been left en
tirely in the hands of the Business
Men's League, which organization
was chiefly instrumental in persuad
ing Mr. Roosevelt to undertake the
Mississippi river trip. The officers
and many leading members of the
league will accompany the President
to Memphis to take part in the Deep
Waterways Convention to be held
there the last of the week. They will
make the journey on the Alton, the
.same boat that will convey the Gov
erors to Memphis.

KEOKU.K, lA.. Oct. 1. (Special)— j
All Keokuk lent itself today to the j
reception of President Roosevelt in
his two hours’ stay here. The popu

throngs of sightseers from the near

of all business houses and along the

Facts About the Great Majestic Range.
It it, the only range in the world made of v alleahle
and Charcoallron.
It has. neyomi any question of a doubt, the largest
and best reservoir.
It uses about half the fuel mod on other ranges, and
does better work by fai.
T» e Majestic A 1 ; ( opj er Nir - l-d !!• sert oir heats the
water quicker and hotter than any • ifu-r. [t is the only
reservoir with a removable frame.
The <'harcoal Iron Body of the (.-treat Majestic Range
lasts three times as long as a steel body.
Being made of rrn-breakahle mat rial, there is
practically no expense for repairing the Majestic.
As for baking, it is perfection, not only for a few
months, but for ail times to come.
A GREAT iv AJESTIC RANGE lasts three times as
long as a cheap range, but it dor’t cost three times as much.
PRO F —We don’t ask you to take our word for any
of the above statements, but you will call at our store, a
man from he factory, where ' ajestic ranges are made,
will prove to your satisfaction, that these are absolute
facts, and will show you many more reasons why the
Great Majestic Range is absolut- l.v the best money can buy
tion to the stand in Rand Park,
where the President delivered his ad
dress, and thence to the river wharf
the residences and stores were cov
ered with lavish decorations of flags
'and - bunting. The sidewalks and
streets were packed, and at several
points the school childrc n were mas
sed, singing national songs, as the
procession passed.
The Presidential party reached the
city on schedule time. Waiting on
station platform were the reception
committee, headed by Governor Cum
mins, the mayor of the the city and
other dignitaries. Members of the
Inland Waterways Commission, who
are to accompany the President on
the trip down the Mississippi, were
also in attendance. The President
was escorted to Rand Park by a de
tachment of the lowa National
Guard, with several visiting Gover
nors and other notables following in
carriages. The President’s speech
was listened to by a crowd that num
bered into the thousands and his re
marks were received by loud and en
thusiastic applause.
The departure of the steamboats
carrying the Presidential party and
the waterways commission was the
most picturesque feature of the day’s
program. As the boats steamed away
from their landing the steam whis
tles of the other craft, and of numer
ous factories blew a farewell and the
thousands of people who lined the
river front joined in a hearty cheer.
The steamboat carrying the Presi
dent will make no steps between Keo
kuk and St. Louis, and is due to reach
the last-named city at 8 o’clock to
morrow morning. Many of the visit
ing Governors and other public men
who were here to join in the recep
tion of the President will travel to St.
Louis by special train and will take
part in the exercises there tomor
row.
