Local Spot Market Proved
a Lifeless Affair.
Xet gains of 6 to 8 points were made
in the cotton market j'esterday. The
opening was 3 to 6 points above the
previous close. The market was
very quiet, changes being few and
narrow. As the noon* hour drew
on prices bulged a few points and then
ran off. it firmed up again, though;
and the close for the active months
was around the highest. As no es
pecial sustaining feature appeared, the
ring traders were sending out warn
ings that a lower level might be ex
pected on the theory that a better
selling basis was being awaited by
longs before realizing.
New York opened 2 to 4 points up
and after some irregularity worked a
few points higher. In the afternoon
the market sagged, hut firmed up
as the close approached, which left
prices 6 to 8 points net higher for
the day for the active months. Spot
prices were not changed. New Or
leans opened 3 to 6 points higher,
March leading. After a dull session of
narrow price changes, the close was
denominated steady, 6 to 8 points
above the final for Saturday. Spot
quotations were unchanged.
Liverpool opened 1 1-2 to 3 1-2
points higher and closed barely steady
1 to 3 points above the close for Sat
urday. The market is due 1 point
up this morning. Spot prices were
advanced 1 point, the sales being
7,000 bales.
The local spot market was lifeless,
no orders being in the hands of the
buyers and no cotton being pushed
for disposition. The rise in the con
tract markets of course precluded any
feeling of weakness on the part of
the owners of the Ideal stock. Quota
tions are unchanged from Saturday.

The immense success which has fol-,
lowed L. T. Cooper during the past
year with his new preparation has ex
ceeded anything of the kind ever be
fore witnessed in most of the leading
cities where the young man has intro
duced the medicine. Cooper has a
novel theory. He believes that the hu
man stomach is directly responsible
for most disease. To quote his own
words from an interview upon his ar
rival in an eastern city: "The average
man or woman cannot be sick if the
stomach is working properly. To be
sure, there are diseases of a virulent
nature, such as cancer, tuberculosis,
diabetis, etc., which are organic, and
are not traceable to the stomach, but
even fevers can, in nine cases out of
ten, be traced to something taken into
the stomach. All of this half-sick,
nervous exhaustion that is now so
common, is caused by the stomachic
conditions, and it is because my rem
edy will and does regulate the stom
ach that 1 am meeting’ with such suc
cess.

gestive, apparatus that is doing its full
duty, getting every particle of vitality
out of all food by transferring it to the
bowels in a perfectly digested state—
this above all else brings health.”
Mr. A. C. Brock, chef of the Brock
Restaurant, Market District, Boston,
Mass., who is a staunch believer in
Mr. Cooper’s theory and medicine, has
this to say: “1 had chronic indiges
tion for over three years. I suffered
terribly, and lost about thirty pounds.
I was a physical wreck when I started
this Cooper medicine, a month or so
ago. Today I am as well as I ever
was in my life. 1 am no longer ner
vous, my food does not distress me in
the least, and I have a splendid appe
tite. 1 am gaining flesh rapidly—in
fact, at the rate of a pound a day. I
would not. believe any medicine on
earth would have done for me what
this has done. It is a remarkable
preparation and Mr. Cooper deserves
all his success.”
We recommend the Cooper prepara
tions as being remarkable medicines.
