WHY HO WEAK
Kidney Troubles May be Sapping Your
Life Away
When a healthy man or woman be
gins to run down without apparent
cause, becomes weak, languid, de
pressed, suffers backache, headache,
dizzy spells and urinary disorders,
look to the kidneys for the cause of
it all. Keep the kidneys well and
and they will keep you well . Doan’s
Kidney Pills cure sick kidneys and
keep them well.
J. C. Culpepper, of State street, a
carpenter and one of the best known
residents of Albany, Ga., has tested
Doan’s Kidney Pills to his entire sat
isfaction and speaks of them as fol
lows: “Yes, they certainly did me a
lot of good, I used them for backache
and urinary troubles from which I
had been suffering for years. I had
a constant dull pain across my loins,
so very severe at times as to com
pletely lay me up. It was very bad
at night. I could not rest well in
any position. 1 would wake up at
night and fell as though my back was
ocming apart. I was hardly able to
turn over in bed. The kidney secre
tions were very dark and contained
a sediment. The action of the kid
neys was altogether too free and
passages were accompanied with a
scalding sensation. This bothered me
a great deal during the day and of
ten at night I was called out of bed
several times, but until I obtained
Doan’s Kidney Pills I found nothing
that helped me much. They did the
work quickly and since using them
I have not had the backache. The
urine has regained its color and con
tains no sediment. I feel first rate.”
Plenty more proof like this from
Americus jieople. Call at Dodson’s
Pharmacy and ask what customers
report.
For sale by all dealers. Price 50
cents. Foster-Millburn Co., New
York, sole agents for the United
States.

PAY-AS-YOU
LEAVE STREET <L>RS
NEW YORK, March 7.—(Special)—
A “pay-as-you-leave” car is the in
vention of George Bopp, a skilled me
chanic. Bopp says he thinks it will
prove infinitely superior to the “pay
as-you-enter” car. He says it will
relieve congestion and save the com
pany stolen fares.
The car wiil be of the regular di
mensions, but its seating capacity will
be larger. To get this, waste plat
form space is utilized. There is a
door in the middle of the car which
forms the exit. The entrance for
men is by the front door and for wo
men by the rear.
The doors are operated by the mo
tormen, on the front end, who oper
ates a push-button with his foot,
which slides the door open and lets
down a step. The rear door works
the same way, but is controlled by
the cashier from his post at the exit
door. The middle door is the only
opening through which a person can
leave the car, and no one can pass
through without paying his nickel
and operating a turnstile, which works
the register.

So few voters came to town yes

Fat All My Life and How I Got Rid
of It
First a captivating plumpness be
gins to steal upon woman in her
twenties. Plumpness is followed by—
oh horrors—fatness, and shortness of
breath and heart flutters. Then,
alas, comes the chin that is double
and the comical lumbering waddle of
the overfat. Fine sarcasm to tell
such a woman to exercise. Why not
counsel flying? She is able to do the
one as the other. It’s another keen
cut to suggest dieting. When ladies
are just so fat they haven t an ounce
of will power or energy to spare for
extras—just living is hard enough
work for them.
What then? Are these unfortunate
condemned to be fat for life? No,
believe it or not, a simple home re
ceipj, easy to get at a drug.store, will
take that fat off and keep it off. Lis
ten! 1-2 ounce Marmola, 1-2 ounce
Fluid Extract Cascara Aromatic and
3 1-2 ounces Syrup Simplex mixed at
home and taken in teaspoonful doses
after meals and at bedtime, will take
off as much as a pound a day in
some cases. Get the Marmola in the
sealed packages—you are sure it is
fresh that way—take the mixture a
month and you’ll see. The fat seems
to drop off and leave nice, smooth,
firm flesh, while the health and com
plexion improve wonderfully.

IRREGULAR FINISH
FOR COFTON MARKETS
Locally no Transactions
Were Reported.
Cotton values were irregular at
the close yesterday, New York losing
a few r points for the day, while New
Orleans gained. The opening was
generally at small losses. The mar
ket turned upward at once, but after
a gain of 6 to 9 points for the old
position, eased off again. The close
at New York was considerably off
from the best, though after this mar
ket had concluded for the day. New
Orleans jumped a few points. The
week-end figures were slightly bear
ish, the visible supply showing a
small decrease for the week.
New York opened unchanged for
October, but 2 to 4 points off for
other positions. Prices bulged as on
previous days, followed bv a liberal
selling at the top. Not all of the ad
vance over the opening was lost, how
ever, the close being 1 to 2 points net
lower as compared with the last for
the day before. Spots were unchang
ed. New Orleans opened 2 points low
er to 1 point higher. After an early
advance prices were easier, but in
the late session firmed up again. The
close was 3 to 7 [joints net higher for
the day. Spot quotations were un
changed.
Liverpool opened 3 to 6 points low
er and ruled with small changes.
The close was steady, 4 to G points
below the last figures for Friday.
Spots were reduced 4 points, the sales
being 5,000 bales.
The local spot market was entire
ly lifeless fcdsterday;, buyers being
without orders around the price for
which cotton could be obtained. Some
lines were being exhibited on fac
tor’s tables, but no cotton was be
ing pushed for sale. Quotations are
unchanged from Friday.

Whiskey of Merit *
THAT is the only kind we ever distilled and
sold. That is why our whiskies sell over and
over to the customer who was satisfied with the
first order—and continues so—that is why we enjoy
the confidence of thousands.
Whiskey is either pure or something else. We
select all the gra i carefully; use only pure water;
age to full maturi, v in our own warehouses, and in
sist that our whisi ies reach the customer in original
packages. This protects us—protects the customer
safeguards our goods from invidious adulterations
by middlemen.
Our whiskies have no equal for use in the sick
room, being wholesome ana tonicy to weak stom
achs; they are the best to serve your friends, they
will appreciate their purity and enjoy their ricn
mellow flavor. The natural vim ana vigor of the
Corn and Rye is concentrated in pure liquid form
in each of the following brands:
