It is a proof of sound business judgment to know when,
where and how to sacrifice profits so that the store and its
buying public may be both benefited. We believe that now
is the time to clean up all winter lines of merchandise. The
profit making season on these lines is over, but the wearing
season, the using season has months to run yet. You’ll find it
greatly to your advantage to change your money for merch
andise in this store at all times, but especially now.

DEAF TELEGRAPHER
SOLVED PROBLEM
j
-
Receives Dots by Way of
Forehead.
J Without doubt the most re
; markable telegraph operator in the
| world is William E. Elliott, who
j runs a station at. Tippecanoe, Ind., on
I jhe New York, Chicago & St. Louis
I Railroad. Though he is totally deaf
he is able to distinguish th** dots and
dashes of the Morse alphabet.
Just after the Nickel Plate Rail
road was built through to Chicago in
l«8l, Mr. Elliott took a position as
representative of the company at
Tippecanoe. At the time his hearing
was far from good, and it gradually
became worse, so that in time he
was unable to hear any sound.
When Elliott realized that he was
losing his hearing he sought away
of reading the telegraph in order that
ihe might continue in the employ of
the railroad company. He loosened
the hammer on his telegraph sounder
and read the dots and dashes by
sight. There were times, however,
when he was not watching the in
strument, and on these occasions the
train dispatcher frequently called
without a response from the “T. P”
station.
Elliott then tried the plan of at
taching a metal cord to the sounder
and holding a metal plug, attached
to the cord, in his mouth. - Next he
took an old horsewhip, cut a piece

BEWARE OF PHYSIC
Only Aggravates Stomach Trouble and
L
Never Cures
The trouble with most people who
have stomach trouble is that they
do not like to take the time to get
cured; they overeat and then take
physic, which simply upsets the stom
ach and never cures.
While relief folows one or two
’ doses of Mi-o-na stomach tablets.,
chronic and long-standing cases need
at least two or three weeks’ treatment
i before the sick headaches, dizzy spells,
bloating, heartburn, constipation, ner
vousness and other symptoms that di
-1 rectly result from indigestion are
banished never to return.
; Mi-o-na is entirely different from
> the ordinary stomach remedies. It
J is taken before meals, stimulating the
secretions of digestive juices, and
strengthening the stomach so that it
can do its proper work.
, With every 50-cent box of MT-o-na
. Dodson’s .Pharmacy gives their guar
antee to refund the money unless the
