“By special resolution the Americas
Board of Trade herewith) tenders to
you a hearty invitation to hold your
next annual convention in this city.
“Americus is a city of 10,000 popula
tion, situated in the richest an,d most
prosperous agricultural section of
Georgia, a county that has probably
seen a greater development in the
past three years, ‘by reason of its mag
nificent highways, than any other
county of its section. The soil and
climatic conditions of the country ad
jacent to Americus, it has been fohnd
are peculiarly adapted to the success
ful cultivation of the pecan and other
nuts as a commercial proposition. A
number of orchards are already plant
ed, or provided ifor, and the evidence:)
aecomulate that Sumter county is des
tined to 'be one of the greatest pecan
centres of the South within a few
jears. For this reason if is esicecially
appropriate that your body should
honor Ameritus by holding your next
annual convention in this city.
"Os the 'hospitality of Americus it
is needless to dilate, We can assure
you that every opportunity will be
aorded your members to see Sumter
county, that every possible effort will
be made to have your visit here both
pleasant and profitab’e, and we feel
convinced that if this invitation Is ac
cepted there will be no occasion to
subsequently regret it on your part.”

BIG “RANCH” IS COMING
IN JUST ONE WEEK,
Greatest Wild West on Earth
Comes to Americus.
In Americas yesterday was advertis
ing car No. 3, of the great "Ranch 101"
attraction, in charge of Mr. Joe Rosen
thal, and in every direction from Amer
icus .the coming of the Ranch 101,
with its Indians and cowboys, is her
alded. Thie show comes to Americus
next Wednesday.
Mr. Rosenthal has been in Americus
before with other attractions, but this
is his first visit in many years. He
was last here with the Sells Bros, cir
cus seventeen years ago.
‘‘Americus has grown wonderfully,”
said Mr. Rosenthal yesterday. ‘‘l
scarcely knew how to find my way
about, .so many and material are the
changes wrought.”
The Ranch 101, he said, is playing
to wonderful business, great crowds
greeting it everywhere. The show is
the big, fresh, clean, vigorous tented
amusement organization from the Ok
lahoma prairie, owned jointly by Ed
ward Arlington, long a conspicuous
figure, and the three Miller Brothers,
the most famous ranchmen of the
Southwest.
Performances will be given in the
a Pei noon and at night, and a typically
western street parade will gladden ths>
eyes and the hearts of young and old.
The 101 Ranch Wild West is the
most sensational ..newcomer in the
'history of canvas entertainments.
Professionally organized only tl.iree
years ago, it has already toured the
length and breadth of this country,
Canada and Mexico, and established a
reputation which other earlier travel
ing enterprises have required decades
to acquire.
Its home and its origin are the Ok
lahoma range lands. Every person
and feature Is real and characteristic.
The peiformers are not professionals,
but men, women and children on a
“lark" from the 101 Ranch. Every
name is known on the ranches of the
Southwest for skill and daring.
Every champion of the lariat, sharp
shooter, cowgirl, cowboy, .trick rider
and other participant is permanently
on tkie pay roll of the 101 Ranch.
Herds of gaunt, long-horned western
steers anil pure-blooded buffaloes are
fantastic features,
There are more than one hundred In
dians, most.of them fresh from the wiv
warns of the tribes that have their
homes on the 101 Ranch.
