AN EVENING DRESS
FOR A DEBUTANTE
Golden Youtb Typified in a
Superb Creation.
New York, Nov. 4.—One dance frock
s just the frock to set off youthful
charms. It consists of a p.aln foun
dation of soft CuUrmeuse satin of that
lovely shade of lyeilow with which
ducklings and chickens are clothed
when they enter this grimy wor.G. The
akirt just clears the ground, and is
untrimmed; but over it fall two tunics,
the under one of yellow chiffon,
sprinkled all over with crystal dew
drops and bordered with ,a deep lattice
work of glittering crystals, and finish
ed with a dropping fringe of the same
that spark.e like icicles.
Over this hangs another tunic of
finest yellow mousseline de soie which
is shorter than the under one, and
only covers half the crystal lattice
work, and thi3 tunic is bordered with
a narrow band of pink.
I’oiuted Tunic.
Both the tunics follow the same
line, and are cut In a deep point at one
3ide, reaching almost to the hem of
ta© satin skirt; and this onesided
point is a very marked feature among
the newest tunic models. The little
full bodice is nearly covered by the
rounded fo.ds from the shoulders, the
chiffon being covered with the lattice
work of crystal and edged with the
icicle fringe. The decolletage is bor
dered with little silver rose 3 and
leaves, the space between the fichu be
ing filled with folds of soft tulle. The
undersleeve, barely reaching to the
elbow, is on of the chiffon edged with
the crystal lattice-work and fringe, the
any little oversleeve being of the
mousseline de soie edged with mink;
and the folded belt and long sa3b ends,
which hang at one side In front and
are also finished with the crystal
fringe, a~ e of charmeusc satia like
the foundation.
A .Silver Net.
A delightfully picturesque effect to
-ho whole dainty costume Is to be giv
en by the silver net set into gold galon
which covers most of the hair, and is
drawn low on one side under a single
deep red rose, which has a wonderful
■ffect amid all the pale yellow. On a
white-skinned girl with fluffy golden
hair this dress, with its glittering dew
irops and icicles, its suggestion of
golden youth and the on© passionate
notq of color In the deep red rose over
the ear, would indeed be ‘‘a sight to
mak* an old man young.”
Croup Is most prevalent during the
dry cold weather of the early winter
months. Parents of young children
ihou'd be prepared for it. All that ia
needed is «f Chamberlain’s
'ough Remedy. Many mothers are nov
?r without it In their homes and it has
never disappointed them. Sold by ail

THREE KITTENS AS
SIAMESE TRIPLETS
All Attached to One Another
But Colors Vary.
Mtddleport, N. Y.. Nov. 4. —Tigress,
the large cat owned by James Albone,
gave birtth a few days ago to three kit
tens. which were all fastened alon&
tne length of their sides to one an
other; their heads are all faced one
way, and almost In a line, and they
are perfect in head, body and leg 3, all
three being able to stand at the same
time and walk.
They are very active and bright and
were it not for the fact that they are
bound or attached to each other by a
thick strip of flesh about an inch and
a half in length along their sides they
would not seem different from ordin
ary kittens. Owing to their peculiar
color, being reddish calico, white and
Maltese, they have been named Red,
White and Blue.
Two other kittens complete the lit
ter. The white kitten is the centre one
of the tria, and seems to be the larg
est and the strongest.

HEARD FROM

Tonic.
Goldsboro, N. C.— "A physician treat
ed me for many distressing symptoms,”
writes Mrs. Etta A. Smith, ‘‘but gav*
me no relief.
“1 suffered with neuralgia around the
heart and was troubled at times with my
head. I had pain in my left side, bowels,
! left thigh, shoulders and arms.
“After taking Cardui, 1 am now well
and can recommend it to other suffering
women.”
Just such doubtful symptoms, as those
from which Mrs. Smith suffered, are the
ones for which it will pay you to take
Cardui, the woman’s tonic.
It is at such times, when there is noth
ing to show, for certain, the real cause of
: the trouble, that you need a tonic, to give
the body strength to throw off the illness
that evidently threatens.
Take Cardui, when you are ill, with
the ailments of vour sex. Take Cardui
as a mipc, to prevent illness, when you
feel it coming.
