M’NAMARA’S ENAMORATA
CAUSE OF INCARCERATION
Labor Leader’s Alleged Lover
Turned Informer
Los Angeles, Cal., April 29.—Calm
ly awaiting future developments,
John J. .McNamara, secretary of the
International Association of Bridge
and Structural Iron Workers and his
brother, James B. McNamara, union
iron worker, and Ortie E. McManigal,
chaged with a series of dynamite out
rages, are obeying to the letter the
instructions of their attorneys and
refuse interviews to all other persons.
Although District Attorney Fred
ericks declares there is no reason for
a change of venue, there continues to
be much discussion of the matter.
There is considerable speculation re
garding the possible arrest of others
in connection with the !>os Angeles
dynamiters’ case.
The authorities have under surveill
ance three Californians.
Woman Caused It.
Jacksonville, Fla., April 29.—That
a woman's desire for revenge led lo
the uncovering of the alleged plot
against the Ix>s Angeles Times, which
led to the destruction of its plant and
the killing of 21 persons, is the state
ment contained in a letter to the
agent of a detective agency here from
a Chicago detective and given out to
day.
According to the report, a woman
who had trouble with John J.
McNamara, disclosed the case to the
men associated with William J. Burns,
the detective, who figured prominently
in the recent arrests.
She also is alleged to have told of
the location of the dynamite after
wards unearthed near Indianapolis.

ATLANTA WOMAN Hi
IN SERIOUS TROUBLE
Mrs. Lynn Bound Over on
Charge of Murder
Atlanta, Ga., April 29. —On sepsa-
tional testimony as to an operation j
performed on a young woman in her t
home, Mrs. Rachael Lynn, the aged 5
spiritualist “medium" living in a sash- '
ionable district at 605 Washington (
street, was (Saturday morning bound .
over to Superior court without bond by 1
Recorder Broyles on the ehage of i
murder.
Shortly after the trial Mrs. Lynn was 1
transferred from the police station io 1
the Tower, where she will be held pend- 4
ing action in the higher court.
Mrs. Lynn seemed unaffected
throughout the proceedings, and show- <
ed no emotion at all when Judge 1
Broyles announced the decision that I
holds her for a capital offense. I
The hearing attracted probably the
greatest crowd ever assembled in the •
police court room. The room was '
jammed from wall to wall with mor
bidly curious men, who were drawn
magnet-like to the scene to devour ev- 1
ery word of the expected sensations.

AMERICUS’ FINE HOTEL
UNDER NEW DIRECTION
George R. Gardner Will Assume Man.
agement of the Hotel Windsor May
IGth-Great Commercial and Tour,
ist Hostelry.
The Hotel Windsor, justly the pride
of Americus and esteemed among the
finest hostelries in Georgia, will pass
under new management two weeks
hence, when Mr. George R. Gardner,
manager of the iSt. Nicholas, at Al
bany, assumes charge for Mr. I>ee G.
Council.
Mr. Gardner requires no introduc
tion, as no hotel man in the South en
joys a wider acquaintance. As man
ager of various hostelries, Mr. Gard
nes brings an experience of years to
the Hotel Windsor.
Mr. Council, who owns this magni
ficent property, is to be congratulat
ed upon having secured such a thor
oughly capable director as he has in
Manager Gardner.
Since acquiring ownership of the
Hotel Windsor a year and a half ago
it has been Mr. Council's ambition to
make it the peer of any hotel in Geor
gia—a house that would appeal
strongly to commercial men and at
the same time prove an attraction to
Northern tourists here.
How well he has done this the public
at large well know.
Eighty thousand dollars has been
expended in making a new hotel of
the Windsor, Mr. Council sparing no
care or expense in the rehabilitation
of the property. Briefly stated, only
the walls of the building, as he bought j
it, remain. Everything else from roof
to basement is new.
In its equipment and furnishings
it is not excelled by any hotel in At- j
lanta and equalled by few in any city
of the South.
Its electrical equipment alone rep-

Some Serve Without Pay;
Others Won’t Serve at Ail
Nashville, Tenn., April 29.—What
promises to he a spectacular tangle
in the Tennessee legislature, began
today, following the expiration at last
midnight of the legal length of an
ts.sembly session—7s days.
All the work of the latter part of the
session was held up by the withdraw
al to Alabama of 34 members to
break a quorum and thereby block leg
islation objectionable to them .
The question now is what will be
the next move of the “regulars” who
have declared they will remain in ses
sion without pay.
In the mantime the “Insurgents,''
who are in Birmingham, are awaiting
developments. They will go to Pensa
cola, Fla., tomorrow. The “Insur
gent” members who remain here have
gone to their homes and declare they
will fight any attempt to have them
arrested and forced to attend the ses
sions.

Did You Ever Stop
to Reason it Out?
How many friends of yours wear
ready-to-wear clothes made by Stein-
Bloch? We know that a good many
of them do. DO YOU?
You ought to. You cannot give a single
valid reason why you ought not to, as far as
fit, as style, workmanship and above all, val
ue is concerned. All these things enter into
your clothes problem. Stop to reason it out
and stop in to try on a fresh new Stein-Bloch
suit.

resents the expenditure of a fortune.
An independent lighting plant, steam
heat, refrigerating plant, electric ele
.-ators —these are, indeed, but a few
>f the accessories of the Windsor.
One hundred private telephones
place guests of the house with the
long distance or local system.
In fact, columns could be written
of the manifold beauties and conven
iences of the Hotel Windsor, and
then the story of its magnificence
would be incompletely told. One hun
dred apartments newly and elegantly
furni'shed —and with private bath and
telephone, are at the demand of the
guests.
A careful‘inspection of the five floors
of the Hotel Windsor attest the care
bestowed upon it.
It was the sole desire of Mr. Coun
cil to afford for Americus a hotel
that would reflect highest credit up
on the city—a house that would read
ily attract’people— and hold them; a
home for the traveling man and at til?
same time a resting place for the
Northern visitor within our gates.
To this end he has invested nearly
$150,000 in the Hotel Windsor and,
very naturally, he desires that the
house he maintained at the highest
point of excellence.
In thus securing the services ct'
Mr. Gardner as manager, Mr. Council
proposes to keep the Windsor in the
front rank of Southern hotels.
The Messrs. Wooten, who have very
successfully conducted the hotel for a
number of years, will go to Way
cross at the termination of their lease
May 15th, where Mr. E. B. Wooten
has, for two or three years, been in
charge of the handsome LeGrande,
thus concentrating their work there.
Continued success and prosperity to
the Hotel Windsor, the pride of
Americus and the best hotel in all
Southern Georgia.
MEXICAN SITUATION IS

Diaz Sens in Call for 15,000
Volunteers
Mexico City, April 29.—Although
the war clouds in the Northern states
of -Mexico are gradually lifting the sit
uation in the south is becoming darker
and the apprehension of the govern
ment is plainly shown in a call is
sued by President Diaz for 15,000 vol
unteers. The nearby states of Borelos
and Gurreo are in the hands of the
rebels, and only 4,000 men are avail
able for the defense of the national
capital. Officials of the war depart
ment admit that a small army well or -
ganized would result in a victory for
the rebels.
The government refuses to recognize
the southern rebels as belligerents and
characterizes them as bandits. The reg
' ular soldiers have orders to deal with
them summarily. This means imme

by the government forces.
