CAPITOLA FLOUR USED
IN COOKING LESSONS
Large Part of Demonstration
Success Due to Capitola
All the ladies of Americus who have
witnessed the cooking demonstrations
given during the past week by Profes
sor Becker will be interested to know
that the brand of flour used was the
well known “Capitola,” manufactured
by the Atlanta Milling Company.
■ The virtues of this flour are too
well known by every housewife to need
further comment, for a large part cf
the excellent results obtained by
Professor Becker is due to the fact
that “Capitola” was the only flour
used in the demonstrations. The At
lanta Milling Company also manufac
ture the pee-less “Imperial, - ' a self
rising flour, which occupies as high
a place in popular favor for that par
ticular kind of flour as does “Capi
tola” in its own field.
The Americus Grocery Company is
•local distributing agent for both these
well known products of the Atlanta
Milling Company.
DR. BELK TO CONTINUE
MEETINGS IN AMERICUS
Preaches Daily at Methodist
Church This Week
Dr. Belk, of Atlanta, has been
preaching during the past week at
First Methodist church. Perhaps
(Americus never had a week of greater
preaching. Dr. Belk is a very popu
lar commencement preacher and lec
turer, filling, perhaps, as many en
gagements of that nature as any man
in the state. But he is at his best in
the pulpit, as a preacher of God’s
Word. He is a Bible preacher. Dr.
Belk will preach each day this week
at 10 a. m. and 7:45 p. m. The church
ought to be filled at each service to
hear his eloquent discourses. People
who hear him will be better all of
their lives as a result.
Don’t miss seeing Wayne G. Chris

Miss Ammen, as superintendent, and
her able corps of assistants. Misse
Hopkins, Breeden and Lemieux, ail
graduate nurses, and Misses MoMath.
Morgan and Spillan, student nurses,
a most satisfactory year’s work has
been accomplished. Despite the fact
that patients have been turned away
from the present guilding at times on
account of lack of room, the Associa
tion shows a splendid financial stand
ing. During the past year there have
been fifty-one pay patients, three part
charity patients and one full charity
patient.
Work is being done now to procure
a new building. A very desirable lot
has been purchased, and plans are
now on foot for the new hospital
which is to be completed within the
next year. This new structure is to
•be a model and modern building, well
equipped to meet the requirements and
needs of all its patients. The desire
is to make the institution self-sus
taining.
The Hospital Association extends
thanks to The city
the county, the Board of Trade, to
the public generally and to every fac
tor that had aided the organization in
carrying on its important work.
The report is one that shows clearly
the excellent work that has been done
by the officials of the hospital and all
the members of the Hospital Asso
ciation who have worked so faithfully
to broaden the field of usefulness filled
by this important public institution.
