JEALOUS HUBBY
SMASHES FURNITURE
(Special to Times-Recorder.)
ATLANTA, June 19. —Suppose you
were returning home in the evening
and saw in the dim corner of your
front porch a young woman whom
you took to be your wife with her
arms around the neck of a blond
young man whom you had never laid
eyes on before. What would you do?
Would you Investigate first, or shoot
first and then investigate? Or would
you smash up the fudniture? Or
would you calmly walkover and look
into the lady’s face to make sure it
was your wife indeed? Probably you
don’t kndw, if the circumstance has
never occurred, but here’s what C. H.
Barnes did, according to a petition for
divorce filed by Mrs. C. H. Barnes to
day.
She says her younger sister, who
looks very much like her, W’as sitting
with her sweetheart on the front
porch of the Barnes home when Mr.
Barnes came in the front gate, thought
it was his wife, flew into a jealous
rage, rushed into the house and cool
ed his w r rath by smashing the bust of
Plato and other furniture before he
discovered his mistake. Mrs. Barnes
says that this lack of faith so humil
iated her that she doesn’t want to
j live with Mr. Barnes any longer,
i Hence the petition for divorce.
