THE HELLBOX.
(In the printing office the box into
which the broken and discarded type
is thrown until enough has accumu

remolded is called the “hellbox.”)

Old type, broken and battered in the

And abusing,
Into the hell-box is contemptuously
flung.

In service on th e printed pages it hal'
sung,
Os victory, recorded sad defeat.
Told of the bridal and funereal events.
Had set down history, revealed the

And tender sentiments,
Had cried the wares of tradesmen

Doctrines of statecraft, praised and

Endorsed and cricicised the acts

And proffered fiction —all the gamut

Unused and useless long

TO THE PUBLIC: Several com
plaints are being made to the editors
concerning local news which has never
reached us. To insure its publica
tion it is necessary that it be given
to some member of the news staff, and
preferably written out. Especially is
this true of parties which contain
lists of the guests. The Times-Re-
I corder is always delighted to handle
any news, and this request is made to
insure better service in our society
columns. The public can assist us by
notifying the office when a party, re
ception or other social event is to be
held, and it will be followed up. Tele
phone 99 from 8:30 o’clock to 4:30
o’clock during week days, and until 6
o’clock Saturday night.—EDITOR.
