leading from the Chambliss Mill to
Andersonville, by beginning at a point
on said road, at the residence of E. R.
Lane, on lot Number Two Hundred and
Eighteen in the Twenty Eighth District
and running in a westerly direction
through fife lands of J. D. Pennington
and the lands of W. E. Brown, formerly
known as the J. R. Battle place, and
continuing to a point on the Americus
and Andersonville Public road, at or
near what is known as Gwynes Shop

This property is sold under and by
virtue of a power of sale contained in
a deed executed by G. M. Bragg to The
Calvert Mortgage Company, dated Jan
uary 13th, 1914, and recorded in the
cffice of Clerk of Sumter Superior
Court, deed book “N N” page 221, on
January 16th, 1914. This deed was
made to secure the payment of a series
cf ninety-six notes of $24.66 principal
debt each, the first due one month after
date and one due each succeeding
month until ninety-six notes were due
and payable, and each note was dated
January 13th, 1914, and it was provid
ed in said deed as follows:
"In the event that said first party
(meaning G. M. Bragg) fails to pay
any of said notes promptly at matur
ity, then the principal debt secured by
this deed, together with the unpaid in
terest thereon shall become due and
payable at once, at the option of the
bolder, and the holder of said debt or

to pay eighteen of said notes which
are now due and payable the first of

succeeding month up to and including
the eighteenth note, which was due
January 13th, 1916.
And the said, The Calvert Mortgage
Company, being the holder of said
notes, hereby exercises its option to
j declare all of the remaining notes of
J said series of ninety-six due and pay
able and hereby exercises its option
to sell the property conveyed and de
scribed in said deed.

Davidson, widow' of W. H. Davidson,
and sold for the purpose of paying the
debts of said estate and for distribu
tion among the heirs of said estate.
Said property has been previously
sold, but the same was erroneously de
scribed in the order of thQ Ordinary,
in the advertisement and in the deed
by the undersigned. The purchaser
and the undersigned have agreed to re
sell the property, and the sale will be
had on the first Tuesday in March, un
der and by virtue of said agreement
and the order of the ordinary as here
tofore stated.

Election Notice.
To The Qualified Voters of the City of
Americus:
Nctici is hereby given that on the
15th day of March, 1916, there will be
held at the usual voting place in the
City Hall Bui'ding in the City of Amer
icus an election for the purpose of de
termining whether or not there shall
be an issue of
Thirty Thousand ($30,000.00) Dol
lars of bonds for the improvement ol
the streets of Americus.
And whether the Mayor and City
Council of Americus shall be authoriz
ed to issue said bonds in denomination
of $1,000.00 each. Said proposed bonds,
if issued, shall bear interest at the
rate of 4 1-2 per cent, per annum, pay
able semi-annually, the due dates o f
said interest payments being on the
Ist day of January and on the Ist day
of July each year, and said interest to
extend over and be paid until the
maturity of said bonds, which shall be
thirty years from the date of issue.
That no part of the principal shall
be due and payable until the expira
tion of thirty years from date of
issue.
To pay off and discharge the inter
est semi-annually and provide for a
sum sufficient to retire the said street
improvement bonds, a tax sufficient to
raise the sum of ($2,350.00) per an
num shall be assessed, levied and col
lected by the Mayor and City Council
of Americus.
All the male citizens of the City of
Americus who are qualified to vote for
members of the Legislature of the
State of Georgia and who shall have
paid all taxes imposed and demanded
by the authorities of the city and shall
have resided six months within the
city prior to the opening of the regis
tration list and registered as herein
provided for shall be qualified to vote
at said election, according to an ordi
nance adopted by the Mayor and City
Council of Americus on the Sth day of
February, 1916.
The polls of said election shall be
opened at 9 o’clock A. M. and remain
epen until 4 o’clock P. M. No person
shall be allowed to vote in said elec
ion for said proposed issuance ot
