Road.
Notice is hereby given that on the
11th day of March, 1916, the Board of
Commissioners of Roads & Revenues
of Sumter County, Ga., will consider
the question of a change in the road
leading from the Chambliss Mill to
Andersonville, by beginning at a point
on said road, at the residence of E. R.
Lane, on lot Number Two Hundred and
Eighteen in the Twenty Eighth District
and running in a westerly direction
through the lands of J. D, Pennington
end the lands of W. E. Brow’n, formerly
known as the J. R. Battle place, and
continuing to a point on the Americus
and Andersonville Public road, at or
near what* is known as Gwynes Shop
between the two Creeks on said Amer
icus and Andersonville road, -where
said new road will intersect said
Americus and Andersonville road;
said road extending from the W. E.
Brown place .through the lands of A.
F. Hodges and North of said A. F.
Hodges’ house; Said road being prac
tically a straight line from the point
of beginning to the intersection of the
Americus and Andersonville road op
posite Gwynes Shop. That the road
from E. R. Lane’s house, up by Park
er’s store and continuing on by the
Ben Easterlin place on lot Number
Three Hundred and Fifteen, in 28th
District and intersecting the Americus
and Andersonville roau on lot Number
Thr.se Hundred and Seventy-nine shall
be discontinued, in the event it is con
cluded to change the road as herein
above indicated.
All parties having objections to the
changing of said road, shall file their
objections with the Clerk of this Board,
on or before the 11th day of March,
1916.

WILSON ALLOWS USE
OF NAME IN GEORGIA
ATLANTA, Ga., March 2.—St. Elmo
Massengale, secretary of the Demo
cratic state executive committee, has
received a letter from President Wood
row Wilson consenting to the use of
his name by the democrats of Georgia
in the selection of delegates to the
national convention. The letter fol
lows :

February 24, 1916.
My Dear Mr. Massengale:
Wliile I am entirely unwilling to
enter into any contest for the presi
dential nomination of the democratic
party, I am willing to permit the use
of my name that the democrats of
Georgia may make known their prefer
ence in regard to that nomination. In
order, therefore, to conform to the res
olutions adopted by the democratic
state executive committee of Georgia,
I hereby consent to the use of my name
as a candidate for the presidency by
any candidate who seeks to be elected
a delegate to the national democratic
convention which is to assemble in

Constitution, has filed with Secretary
Massengale his formal entry as a can
didate for national committeeman. He
has represented Georgia on the na
tional democratic committee for nine
teen years.
John W. Bennett, of Waycross, who
has been mentioned as a probable can
didate for national committeeman, has
not yet filed his entry.

Tickets Sell
On Monday
ATLANTA, Ga., March 2.—With Ca
ruso, Forrar, Scotti, Gadski, Mmato
aid all the famous stars of past years
all included in the contract for this
season, the Metropolitan Grand Opera,
under the auspices of the Atlanta Mu
sic Festival association, will open its
season sale of tickets here on Monday.
The grand opera week this year will
be April 24 to May 1, inclusive, and
there w’ill be seven perofrmances as
in past years. The scale of prices will
be exactly the same as in past years,
and the sale of season tickets will con
tinue through March 25th.
Hundreds of mail orders are al
ready beginning to pour in from eevry
ection of Georgia and the South. These
should be addressed to C. B. Bidwell,
treasurer, Atlanta Music Festival As

The opera fund has already been
over subscribed and indications point
to a very brilliant season. The operas
this year will be Samson and Delilah,
