Did Not Play Games.
The anticipated trip of the Americus
High school Saturday to Columbus did
not materialize, and the locals were
forced to have an off day. No reason
is known for the postponement of the
games by the management of the Col
umbus team, unless it was that they
were not prepared to tackle a bunch of
ball tossers as well versed in the
pastime as the Americus High school
aggregation. It was decided to play
the games Friday, May 19th and 20th,
but it is exceedingly doubtful if Amer
icus can make the trip then, because
of the plans for graduation night.
This was practically the only date
on which the local bunch could have
gone, but they will make the trip it
there is any chance at all. Thursday
the boys play in Ideal, and this game
should result in a victory for the
Americus lads. Even if the game were
lost, it would not affect the locals’
cl ant es for recognition in the cham
pionship race, because the team to be
tackled in Ideal is not a high school
aggregation, being merely the team of
that town. It will give the locals a
rood practice, rnd they need some sort
if they hope to '.and Columbus Indus
trial another ueieat.
