the country near Smithville, is reported

AMERICUS LIGHT INFANTRY
Recruiting for the Americus Light
Infantry, while somewhat slow, is
resulting in the securing of excellent
material for military purposes. “Jack”
McArthur of this city and Richard H.
Falmar of Daisy, Ga., left yesterday
for the recruit training camp at Ma
con, having enlisted in Company I.
About 20 more men are needed to
bring the Americus Light Infantry up
to tlie prescribed maximum peace
strength, which has been authorized by
the War Department.
