I RATE INCREASE I I
| TALK NO. 1 I
I
So the People May Know
We are now asking the Railroad Commissiort of Gear- I
gia for an increase in lighting, power and gas rates in I
Americus, and a hearing »f the matter has been set for I
the 20th of this month in Atlanta.
We feel that every customer of this Company is due I
full information as to why we, and ffractically every other I
utility plant in the country, find it absolutely necessary to I
I ask for an increase in rate at this time.
It is our purpose to “come clear and straight from the I
shoulder” with this information and to give specific and I
detailed facts and not glittering generalities.
We are going to use the advertising columns of this I
paper daily for a series of little man-to-man talks for as |
long as is necessary to bring our full information.
We want to ask that you read these—we will try not I
to tire you with too many dry statistics—before you form I
your opinion of the matter. Before the time set for the I
hearing in Atlanta we will be glad to be present at a mass I
meeting to be held at such a time and place as suits the I
convenience of yourselves, if this be your wish, and to I
answer any questions we can. W T e shall try to cover the I
I matter in these columns, however, and we ask of you the I
courtesy and justice of a fair, open-minded consideration I
of the matter.
Sincerely yours,
W. G. EAGER,
Consulting Engineer Americus Lighting Co. |
