EAT LESS MEAT
IF BACK HURTS
TAKE A GLASS OF SALTS TO
FLUSH KIDNEYS IF BLADDER
BOTHERS YOU—DRINK LOTS OF
WATER.
Eating |meat regularly eventually
produces kidney trouble in some form
or other, says a well known authority,
because the uric acid in meat excites
the kidneys, they become overworked;
get sluggish; elog up and cause all
sorts of distress, particularly back
ache and misery in the kidney region;
rheumatic twinges, severe headaches,
acid stomach, constipation, torpid
liver, sleeplessness, bladder and urin
ary irritation.
The moment your back hurts or kid
neys aren’t acting right, or if bladder
bothers you, get about four ounces of
Jad Salts from any good pharmacy;
take a tablespoonful in a glass of wa
te?r before breakfast for a few days
and your kidneys will then act fine.
This famous salts is made from the
acid of grapes and lemon juice, com
l ined with lithia, and has been used
generations to flush clogged kidneys
and stimulate them to normal activity:
also to neutralize the acids in the,
urine so it no longer irritates, thus
ending bladder disorders.
Jad Salts cannot injure anyone;
makes a delightful effervescent lithia
water drink which imllions of men and
women take now and then to keep the
kidneys and urinary organs clean, thus
avoiding serious kidney disease, adv.
HAHN PROMOTED AFTER
HIS ARRIVAL IN FRANCE
SAVANNAH, Ga„ March s.—Fred
erick Hahn, formerly employed by the
Savannah Morning News, who went to
France as a second lieutenant in the
first batch of American soldiers that
left this country, has been promoted
to be first lieutenant, according to
letters received here. He is the first
Savannahian under fire with the
American contingent. In his letter
he says it ig hard to get sleep, partic
ularly in view of the bombardments.
But, he says, after you have slept
through one bombardment, you can
sleep through anything. He says the
worst part of the warfare is the Ger
man gas, but Uncle Sam’s men are
gradually learning howe to cope with
that deadly substance. Lieut. Kahn
says the boys get fine treatment from
their officers, and he speaks glowingly
of the French girls.

How It Happened.
Editor—“l am told that in your ac
count of that fashionable wedding you
actually mentioned the groom’s name.
Don’t you know that is contrary to
custom?” Reporter—" Yes; I’m sorry,
sir, but you see it happened to creep
in among the out-of-town guests.’’—
