THINGS OF INTEREST TO WOMEN
MRS. E. J. ELDRIDGE HOSTESS.
Mrs. E. J. Eldridge was hostess at
two lovely parties today. At the
morning party Miss Mary Elza Shep
pard, whose marriage to Lieutenant
J. G. Holst will be a social event of
next month, was the guest of honor.
Cut flowers and potted plants adorned
the rooms and bridge was played at
five table. A salad course was served
after the game. Those present were -

The first of a series of beautiful
entertainments to be given this week
in honor of Miss Mattie Beulah Me-
Math, a charming bride-elect, was a
forty-tw'o party at which Miss Gene
vieve Prather was hostess this after
noon. Hyacinths, jonquils and violets
made fragrant the living room where
the interestin ggame was played at
four tables. A dainty piece of lingerie
wag presented the hoonr guest, and
at the close of the game, a salad course
with ices, was served. Those playing

will be pleased to learn of her recov
ery from a serious illness. She is at

Harrold Davenport in Athens but will
return to Americus next week.

Mr. and Mrs. B H. Butts left today
C harleston. West Virginia, where Mr.
Butts, who was superintending -en
gineer of the McCrary Company, has
accepted a very important and lucra
tive position with the government
Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Butts, who
have been with Mrs. Welborne Clark,
on Lee street for the past several
weeks, regret their departure from
the city.

rold appeared Sunday on the Women’s
club page of the Atlanta Constitution
Mrs. Harrold has recently been ap
pointed as chairman of legislation of
the State Federation to succeed Mrs.
Spencer Atkinson, and it was as the
new legislation chairman, a signal
honor, that the Constitution publish
ed the photograph.
