SUMTER CLUB DANCE.
The dance given by the Sumter dub
at the armory last evening was one
of the most delightful of the season
Muecke’s orchestra furnished the
T-'.usic and a large number of the
dancing contingent were present
Punch and sandwiches were served
during the evening by Miss Mary Dud •
ley, Miss Quenelle Harrold, and Miss
Margaret Everette. The visitors pres
ent were Miss Miriam Jones, of Al
bany; Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Crawford,
Lieut. Norman Lawson Mr. C. A. Er
nest, Mr. Mote Andrews, Mr. Mat
thews and Lieut. Felix Roche.

MRS. IVEY ENTERTAINS.
One of the prettiest parties of the
week was that given by Mrs W. S.
Ivey this afternoon in honor of her
house guest Mrs. Herschel Smith of
Macon, and Mrs. M. H. Wheeler, a
recent bride.
Spring flowers in profusion were
used effectively in decorating and the
games of bridge and forty-two were
played. The guest list included be
sides the honor guests, Mrs. Edgar
Shipp, Mrs. Lucius McCleskey. Mrs.

HOSTESS.
An elaborate bridge luncheon was
given by Mrs. John Council Wednes
day at her apartments on Lee street
z\ color scheme of violet and gold was
artistically carried out in the decora
tions and menu. Covers were laid for
twelve and a luncheon in five course
wa s served at a beautifully appointed
table, the centerpiece being a Irage
basket of daffodils and violets.
Those participating in the game
were members of the Tuesday Morn
ing Bridge club, Mrs. A. D. Gate
wood. Mrs. Barlow Council, Mrs. Will
Green Turpin, Mrs. Lucius McCleskey,
