EASTER RALLY FOR WAR SAVINGS STAMPS ATLANTA, Ga., March 23. —Every school teacher in Georgia is asked by the go/enment through the War Sav ings Committee of this state, of which Hugh Richardson is director, to ar range for an Easter rally next week in the interest of the movement for thrift and war savings. A letter has from Atlanta headquarters to all teachers throughout the state sug gesting the outlines of the program that is to be followed in schools all over the country. It provides for all the pupils to write essays on the sub ject of thrift. In each grade the chil dren will read their essays on Wed nesday, March 27, and the winners in the several grades will compete with cne another in public exercises on Fri day afternoon, March 29. The winner of this contest will have his or her essay printed in a pamphlet containing the winners from all over the state. CORDELE AND DAWSON WINNERS IN DEBATE In the Third District High school debates, held Friday night at Dawson, Cordele, Fitzgerald and Americus, Cor dele won over Fitzgerald with both of her teams, making scores of 3 to 0, while Dawson won in the double duei with Americus, making a score of 2 to 1. This means that Dawson and Cor dele are to compete for the debating honors at the High school meet, which will be hied in Dawson on April 19-20. Last year it was a hotly contested struggle between Americus and Fitz gerald .in which Americus boys came out finally as district champions. k Tomato plants now ready for de livery. C. C.
