MILLION AND HALF
MEN WILL GO OVER
1 BY NEXT JANUARY
I
PARIS, May 18.—The United States
has promised to have 1,500,000 fighting
men in France by the end of 1918, says
L’Homme Libre, Premier Clemenceaus’
newspaper. These troops, it adds,
must have their own organization
and services, which will mean at least
' 2,000,000 specialists, workers, men in
!the quartermaster’s department and
others.
The newspapers say certain misun
derstandings which had existed had
been cleared and that under no cir
cumstances will Allied workers or
'soldiers replace French workers in
factories. In the presence of Ameri
can workers on French soil would be
in direct consequence of the presence
of American fighters on the front.
WORDS FROM HOME.

—Testimony of Americus Citizens
When an Americus citizen comes
> the front, telling his friends and
neighbors of his experience, you can
ly on his sincerity. The statements
of people residing in far away places
do not command your confidence.
Home endorsement is the kind that
backs Doan’s Kidney Pills. Such tes
timony is convincing. Investigation
proves it true. Below is a statement
fan Americus resident. No stronger
proof of merit can be had.
J. C. Beck, engineer, Seaboard Air
Line railroad, Hancock avenue, says:
‘Riding over rough roads and the jar
ring of the engine made my kidneys
wepk. I suffered for several years
from pains in the small of my back.
Joan’s Kidney Pills had cured many
others of the same trouble, so I got a
box. Jlter taking them as directed,
was cured.”
