Because members of the Jewish Or
thodox church objects to registering
for military service on their Sabbath,
Provost Marshal General Crowder an
nounced today that youths of the
Jewish faith will not be required to
register next Saturday with others
■who have become 21 since last June
5. Their registratin will be accept,-,
ed by local bards on Monday. August
26.
President Wilson has authorized 1
an amendment to his original procla
mation under which all persons ad
hering to religious sects which ob
serve Saturday as the Sabbath may
i»-gister on the 26th. A formal pro
test on the subject had been filed by
the / ssociation of Ordained Orthodox
Bubbi.

Hon. John A. Gobb, ordinary of said
county, on the first Monday in April,
1918, will be sold before the court
house door in the city of Americus,
said county and state, on the 3rd day
of September, the first Tuesday, 1918,
between the legal hours of sale, to the
highest bidder for cash, the following
described land, to-wit:
The whole of lot of land number one
hundred and sixty-seven (167), con
taining two hundred two and one-half
(202 1-2) acres, more or less; sour 1
(4) acres in square shape in the |

nundred and seventy-four (174), all in j
