STANDING OF CONTESTANTS IN BIG
CAMPAIGN TO DOUBLE CIRCULATION
The coming week will be one of the
most important and will provide the
best opportunity that the ladies who
are so diligently and enthusiastically
making the great subscription drive
for The Times-Recorder will have be
fore the end, for it is the last week of
the big bonus vote on a club of $20.00
in subscriptions, each of which gets
400,000 extra votes besides the regular
vote. This is the very largest extra
bonds vote that will be offered at any
time for the same amount of subscrip
tions during the remaining time of the
campaign. The regular vote is issued
at the time the subscription is paid
and it is not necessary to hold back
subscriptions until a $20.00 club has
been secured. Friends or regular pa
trons of the paper may pay subscrip
tions at The Times-Recorder office, to
a regular collector, or in some other
manner and ask that the votes be given
to some of the ladies, and the amount
would be credited oil the club.
The voting Saturday was the very
heaviest since the campaign was an
nounced. The payment of subscrip
tions, coming from many sources and
divided among many of the ladies
who are making a good showing in the
race for the awards, was, perhaps, the
largest for any one day of the cam
paign. There is no one candidate yet,
however, who has received such strong
support that a few subscriptions would

not secure enough votes to change
places with the leader. No one has a
“cinch,” and no one has run so far
head of the others that her many com
petitors could not very easily overtake
her.
Those of the ladies who are active
in the campaign are being given most
splendid support and are getting the
co-operation of all the public-spirited
people of this section, and the drive is
succeeding splendidly. The efforts
and co-operation of those who have
been nominated are the greatest fea
ture, for there has never been a cam
paign when so many influential ladies
have responded.
To those who are making the drive
and to those who are willing to assist
and who wish to vote for any of the
candidates, the announcement that
the greatest vote so subscrip
tions is offered for the coming week
will no doubt appeal strongly and re
sult in a big vote.
The vote standing for the two dis

Two Friday afteronon. Both districts
will be published again next Sunday
