BETTER MONEY
FOR MECHANICS
IN AIR SERVICE
f,
SOUTHER FIELD, April u— A
mathematician has calculated that the
Air Service of the Army pays more
money to skilled mechanics than can
be earned in civil life. The deduction
is agftfollowW »
Count the cash that you have left
your necessary expen
ses iSa civil trade.
An-automobile mechanic earns from
$3.50 to $4.50 per day, counting 26
working days per month. Your salary
at $4.50 per day equals $117.00 per
month. His expenses are:
Board and room $35.00
Clothing (outside) 8.00
Shoes, hats, underwear, etc 3.00
Doctor's and Dentist’s bills
hospital and medicines .... 5.00
Loss of time due to holidays,
sickness, etc. 2 day per
month 9.00
Loss of time due to lay offs, lack
of employment, vacations,
etc., 3 days per month. 1(3.50
Total $73.5t
Deduct this amount from his salary
of $117.00 per month and he has left
$43.50
If he is a skilled mechanic and has
confidence enough in his ability to put
his skill to a real test, by enlisting in
the army, he can earn from $44.00 to
$121.50 per month, without a single
cent of expense. Whether he gets the
$44.00 or $121.50 is up to him.
The Air Service of the Army offers
steady employment with short hours
and no “lay offs”; furloughs are grant
ed with full pay and cheap transpor
tation rates for jfour trips. When
sick, pay goes on just the same, you
receive free, the best hospital facilities
and medical treatment.
The Air Service of the Army offers
excellent opportunity to men between
the ages of 21 and 35 who have me
chanical inclination, or who are skill
ed mechanics.
Air Service Mechanics Schools en
able the young apprentice to complete
his education and become an expert
tradesman and qualify you for large
earnings while »n the service.
Skilled mechanics are always in de
mand and can save money through
enlistment,

To Test Feeds for
Making ‘Hard’Pork:
ATLANTA, April, 7. —What is the
best and motet efficient food for creat
ing “hard" pork? That is a problem,
and an important one, which it is
proposed to solve through tests which
have just been determined upon
through co-operation between the
Georgia State Bureau of Markets and
the Georgia Experiment Station at Ex
periment.
As the result of a conference be
tween Director H. P. Stuckey of the
Experiment Station and Director L. B.
Jackon of the State Bureau of Markets,
it has been determined to secure 80
pigs weighing from 70 to 80 pounds
each, divide them in lots of ten, and
feed each lot a distinct and separate
ration.
In this way is is possible to make
a careful test of eight different varie
ties of hog foods, and the results will
be noted both in the aggregate weight
of the hogs and the quality of the
pork produced.
These hogs will be kept in different
enclosures at the Experiment Station,
so that there will be no possibility of
getting any but a known food and a
known quantity. In this way it can
be determined exactly what a given
ration will do. The results of these
important tests will be given to the
prepared bulletin, as soon as they are
pompleted.

HAVE DARK HAIR ~
AND LOOK YOUNG
Nobody can ’ Tell when you
Darken Gray, Faded Hair
with SageJTea.
Grandmother kept her hair beauti- j
fully darkened, glossy and attractive
with a brew of Sage Tea and Sulphur.
Whenever her hair took on that dull, 1
faded or streaked appearance, this slm- (
pie mixture was applied with wonder
ful effect. By asking at any drug
store for "Wyeth’s Sage and Sulphur
Compound,” you will get a large bot- '
tie of this old-time recipe, improved
by the addition of other Ingredients, all
ready to use, at very little cost. This
simple mixture can be depended upon
to restore natural color and beauty to
the hair.
A well-known downtown druggist
says everybody uses Wyeth’s Sage and
Sulphur Compound now because it
darkens so naturally and evenly that
nobody can tell it has been applied—
it's so easy to use, too. You simply
dampen a comb or soft brush and
draw it through your hair, taking one
strand at a time. By morning the'
gray hair disappears; after another j
application or two, it is restored to Its
natural color and looks glossy, soft ,
and beautiful. . This preparation is a
delightful toilet requisite. It is not in
tended for the cure, mitigation or pre
vention of disease.

EVERYBODY SEEMS
TO BE TAKING IT
Athens farmer says all his neighbors
were taking Dreco. so he did too, and
now his catarrh is gone.
“I think my neighbors regulated
their meals by the time a dose of Dreco
was due to be taken” says Mr. J. R.
Evans, the wealthy and popular form
er of Oconel Heights, Athens, Ga.
Evedy one knows Mr. Evans for he is
considered one of the best farmers in
this sectfon.
“You know, I believe,” he continued,
“that there never has come to Athens
a medicine that has taken such uni
versal hold on the people as Dreco. It
looks like everbody is taking it. Every
where you go people are talking about
Dreco, and all of them praising it.
“I know what Dreco did for me and I
won't mind telling about it. It just
knocked out a very bad case of catarrh
for me. I was suffering agonies from
my head and eyes were sore and ach
ed me. My throat and stomach were
painful and I had a sharp cutting
pain in my right side all the time. I
was miserable and discouraged, but
now since taking three bottles of Dreco
I’m in good condition again. I sleep
fine, breathe easy, digest my feed, and
the pains in my head and eyes are
all gone. For catarrh, I don't believe
anything can equal Dreco.”
Dreco contains herbal juices, which
act on catarrh, and banishes that dis
tressing disease from the human sys
tem. It clears the head, stops the mu
cus from dripping from the nose into
the throat; often improves the hear
ingand relieves head noises. Dreco
keeps the bowels moving regularly,
rouses the liver and aids the stomach
in digestion.
All good druggists now sell Dreco
and it is highly recommended in
1 Americus by Americus Drug Co.
