HEAVY PROGRAM
FACES GEORGIA
SOLONS JUNE 25
ATLANTA, June 17.—Before the
General Assembly of Georgia, which
meets Wednesday, June 25, will come
bills to create a state highway sys
tem, to revise the tax system, to
establish new laws and regulations
governing state banks, to establish
a budget system for making appro
priations, to provide for the levying
of a local school tax in every coun
ty and otherwise improve the state’s
educational system, to improve the
health laws and regulations, and to
strengthen the hands of the railroad
commission.
In addition to these important and
far-reaching matters, the legislature
will be called upon to ratify or re
ject the Susan B. Anthony amend
ment to the federal constitution giv
ing women the vote.
The Governor of Minnesota, it is
indicated in a telegram received by
Governor Dorsey yesterday, is taking
the lead in an effort to hurry
through ratification of the Susan B.
Anthony Federal equal suffrage
amendment. The telegram apprised
Governor Dorsey of the fact that
thirty-five states in the union have
agreed to call extraordinary sessions
of their legislatures for the purpose
of passing on the Federal amend
ment, and the Governor of Minnesota
asks if this state will be willing to do
the same thing.
Under the circumstances it be
comes entirely unnecessary even to
consider an extraordina^ - session,
since Georgia meets in regular ses
sion this month, anc the Federal
amendment will be disposed of at
that time. This information has
been forwarded to the Governor of
Minnesota.
In the meantime certain officials
interested in the outcome of the rat
ification resolution in Georgia have
made a study of the>. situation and
regard it as extremely doubtful that
Georgia will ratify it.

After the Fire.
When fire has swept a bit of wood
land the flowers that start the follow
ing season are often not the same as
grew there before and frequently are
strange to the locality. Queer legends
have grown up to account for this fact,
but the explanation is in reality very
simple. Down under the surface soil
these seeds have been waiting no one
knows how long. They never had a
chance before fire gave it.

SHOW JUST WHAT
TANLAC REALLY IS
Many Facts o £ Interest are Now Giv
en to the Public Regarding
It.
In a recent issue of this paper an
nouncement was made that Tanlac
now has the largest sale of any med
icine of its kind in the world, and
that more than twelve million bottles
had been sold during the past four
years.
These are unusual figures, and the
question naturally arises in the mind
of the reader why this phenomenal
success and why has this prepara
tion so far out-stripped all other med
icines of its kind. It is only natural
therefore that the manufacturers
should offer some explanation to sat
isfy public interest.
In the first place, Tanlac is man
ufactured in one of the largest and
j most modernly equipped laboratories
' in this country. Its formula is purely
1 ethical and complies with all na
i tional and state pure food and drug
] laws. Altogether there are ten ingre
' dients in Tanlac, each of which is
. of recognized therapeutic value.
Many of these ingredents have
been individually known and used
since civilization first began, and
some of them have been used and
prescribed by leading physicians ev
erywhere, but until they were brought
together in proper proportion and as
sociation as in the Tanlac formula,
humanity had not heretofore realized
their full value and effect.
In referring to one of the more
important ingredients of Tanlac, the
Encyclopedia Brittanica says: “It
has long been the source of the most
valuable tonic medicines that have
ever been discovered.” In referring
to others of the general tonic drugs
contained in Tanlac the 13th Edition
of Potter’s Therapeutics, a standard
medical text book, states that—“they
impart general tone and strength to
the entire system, including all or
gans and tissues.”
This same well-known authority in
describing the physiological action of
still another of the ingredients of
Tanlac which is of value in treating
what is commonly known as “a run
down condition” uses the following
expression: “It is highly esteemed
in loss of appetite during convales
cense from acute diseases.”
There are certain other elements
in Tanlac which because of their in
fluence upon the appetite, digestion,
assimilation and elimination improve
the nutrition and vital activity of all
the tissues and organs of the body,
and produce that state of general ton
icity which is called health.
In discussing another ingredient,
the Encyclopedia Brittanica says: “It
is one of the most efficient of that
class of substances which act upon
the stomach so as to invigorate di
gestion and thereby increase the gen
eral nutrition. It is used in dyspep
sia, chlorosis, anemia and various
other diseases in which the tone of
the stomach and alimentary canal
is deficient.” Concerning still an
other ingredient this same standard
authority says: “It causes dilation
of the gastric blood vessels, increases
secretion of gastric juice, and causes
greater activity in the movements of
the muscular layers in the walls of
the stomach. It also tends to lessen
the sensibility of the stomach, and
so may relieve gastric pain.”
The United States Dispensatory
makes the following comment re
garding another ingredient: It
may be used in all cases of pure de
bility of the digestive organs or where
a general tonic impression is re
quired. Dyspepsia atonic gout, hys
teria and intermittent fever are

among the many affections in which

There are certain other ingredients
described in the Dispensary and in
other standard medical text books as
having a beneficial action upon the
organs of secretion whose proper
functioning results in the purification
of the blood streams parsing through
them. In this manner objectionable
and poisonous ingredients of the
blood are removed, and the entire
system is invigorated and vitalized.
Tanlac was designed primarily for
the correction of disorders of the
stomach, liver and bowels. At the
same time, however, it is a powerful
reconstructive tonic and body build
, er, for it naturally follows that any
I medicine that brings about proper
assimilation of the food and the
thorough elimination of the waste
products must therefore have a far
[ reaching and most beneficial effect
. upon the entire system.
Although Tanlac’s claims for su
premacy are abundantly supported
by the world’s leading authorities, it
lis the people themselves who have
| really made Tanlac what it is. Mil
lions upon millions have used it, and
I have told other millions what it has
| done for them. That is why Tanlac
' has become the real sensation of the
1 drug trade in this country, and that
'is also why it is the most widely
;talked-of medicine in the world to
day.
Tanlac is sold by leading druggists
| everywhere.

Pretty Thought.
The conception of the past and the
future is well illustrated in the case
of a little boy who said to his mother
one day: “Mother. I know why it is
that babies cannot speak until they
; are twelve months old or more. It is
because they come straight from heav
en, and if they were able to talk as
soon as they were born they would
tell the secrets, and so God doesn’t
let them speak until they have almost
forgotten them.”
