FOR MISS FRANCES LOVING
Miss rrances Loving, whose mar
riage to Lucas C. Thiers, of Mem
phis, will be an interesting event of
Thursday, was honor guest yesterday
at a pretty party given by Miss Or
lean Ansley, and attended by about
twenty-five friends of the bride-elect.
The attractive Ansley home on South
Lee street was never more inviting
than in its decorations of sunflowers
and garden ferns, and the entire af
fair was most enjoyable.. A salad
course and punch was served, and
the guests attending besides the hon

SHEWG-JOLF CLUB
GIVES PRETTY DANCE
One of the largest dances of the
season was given last night by the
Shewg-Jolf club in their club room
which was beautifully decorated for
the occasion with daisies and gladi
ola. A local orchestra rendered all the
latest dance music and an enthusias
tic throng of dancers enjoyed the

GIVES PRETTY PARTY
Mrs. Griffith Morgan Eldridge of
Wilton, Maryland, was honor guest
at one of the notably enjoyable af
fairs of the week when Mrs. Alton
Cogdell of Richland gave a 42 party
for her at the residence of Mrs. T.
F. Gatewood on Lee street. Daisies
and pink hydrangias were used as
decorations and the high score prize,
which was won by Miss Elizabeth Da
vis, was a pack of 42 cards. The
guest of honor was presented a box
of stationery. Present were Mrs. H.
