FLYERS SHAKEN SLIGHTLY
MAKING FORCED LANDING
One wheel of the landing gear of
an airplane was smashed at Souther
Field this morning when Lieut.
Greenawalt, of Carlstrom Field,
Fla., made a forced landing at the
edge of the field from a low altitude.
It was reported that ’the plane was
otherwise undamaged.
Lieut. Greenawalt, who came here
to participate in the aerial circus last
Saturday and remained over the
Thursday’s show, was accompanied by
Private Smith, a mechanician from
Carlstrom Field. Both were shaken
up a bit and taken to the post hos
pital where they were examined. It
was found neither had suffered any
injuries and they returned to their
duties on the field almost immedi
ately.

JULY 15
I HAVEN’T recovered from the
* fright of it yet, but it was
screamingly funny, too! This morn
ing Dolly and I were in the ma-
chine and, suddenly, Dolly saw I
some wild roses in a field and we
stopped the car, ciimoed a fence
and started to pick the • flowers,
when we heard a strange noise be
hind us; we turned and there was
a cow a feet away! Neither of us
ever moved so rapidly before.
When we got in the car and
looked back w e found the cow was
tied. Dolly had taken care and time
getting over the fence to get the
lowers; but upon our return her
speed was miraculous. You see
she had on a frock she particularly
likes—it is made of white voile,
I the underskirt being very tight
! a d the over skirt rather full and
trimmed with bands of yellow lin
en tape. The sleeves and girdle are
trimmed to match, and the slanting
slit pockets in the front of the
blouse are also outlined with tape.
Dolly put it truly, but very slangi
ly, when she said, “I’m off wild
I roSes for life.”

FOUND DEAD
IN BEDROOM
Unusual Experience of Georgia Lady
Which Created Sensation.
Last Wednesday night, Mrs. Julia
Brown, who lives in Georgia near
the Florida line, found about fifty
malarial mosquitoes dead in her bed
room. She was very much surprised.
Upon investigation, she learned that
er room had "been sprayed with “Tor
ment” the afternoon before by her
son. “Torment” is a new prepara
tion put out by The G. B. Williams
Company, Quitman, Georgia, and is
creating quite a sensation all over
the South. It is deadly to flies, mos
quitoes, ants, fleas, lice, mites, bed
bugs, roaches, etc. It has a pleasant
odor, will not soil clothing nor fur
niture, and is absolutely harmless to
human beings. “Torment” is put up
in 25c bottles. Sold by dealers ev

Suffering Described As Torture
Relieved by Black-Draught.
\
Rossville, Ga.—Mrs. Kate Lee Able, of
I this place, writes: “My husband is an
engineer, and once while lifting, he in
i jured himself with a piece cf heavy ma
chinery, across the abdomen. He was
so sore he could not bear to press on
himself at all, on chest or abdomen. He
weighed 165 lbs., and fell off until he
weighed 110 lbs.; in two weeks.
He became constipated and it looked
like he would die. We had three different
doctors, yet with all their medicine, his
bowels failed to act. He would turn up
a ten-cent bottle of castor oil, and drink
it two or three days in succession. Jle
did this yet without result. We became
desperate, he suffered so. He was swol
len terribly. He told me ’’.is suffering
could only be described as torture.
I sent and bought Thedford’s Black-
Draught. 1 made him take a big dose,
and when it began to act he fainted, he
was in such misery, but he got relief and
began to mend at once. He got well,
and we both feel he owes his life to
Thedford’s Black-Draught.”
Thedford’s Black-Draught will help you
to keep fit, ready for the day’s work. 1

ANDERSON TELLS
OF BIG CHANGE IN
WIFE’S CONDITION
Says She Has Been Entirely Reliev
ed of Nervousness Through Taking
Tanlac—lmprovement Is Talk of
Neighbors.
“My wifes’ improvement is the talk
of all our neighbors,” says G. Ander
son, 2550 Norton avenue, Kansas
City, Missouri.
“When she began taking Tanlac,”
he continued, “she only weighed one
hundred and ten pounds and hardly
ever enjoyed a well day. For years
she had been in such bad condition
that she couldn’t eat without bloat
ing all up with gas and suffering ter
ribly with pain and palpitation of the
heart. She was badly constipated and
had headaches and pains in Cne back
every day. Her appetite was very
poor, and what she did eat seemed to
do her no good, as she was losing
weight and strength. She also bad
an attack of ‘flu’, and this left her in
a much worse condition than -ver.
“She had tried every kind of stom
ach medicine we heard of, but she
kept gettting worse until a friend
persuaded her to try Tanlac. Before
she had finished the first bottle she
had a good appetite and was able to
digest anything, and she says she
never feels a sign of gas bloating or
pain afterwards. Her nerves are in
good shape, and she sleeps every night
just like a child. Her headaches and
backache have left her and her house
work seems to be easy for her. Tan
lac certainly is the finest medicine
made and I am glad of ti e opportun
ity to tell the public about it.”
Tanlac is sold by leading druggists
everywhere.
Eyeglasses.
The suggestion of the use of lenses
for the cure of eye defects was made
by Roger Bacon, the great scientist of
the thirteenth century. The making
of the spectacles was carried out by
Italians. Physicians of those days,
however, did not know the true theory
upon which they were based.

Columbus' 111 Fate.
On the twentieth of May, 1506,
Christopher Columbus died at Valla
dolid. Spain, at the age of seventy. His
whole life had been devoted to ex
ploration and discovery for the ag
grandizement of Spain, yet liis last
years were embittered by the in
gratitude shown him by the nation.
Show Volcanic Formation.
The whole of the west of Scotland
and northeast Ireland are of volcanic
formation. Look at the Giant cause
way, with its queer pipes of basalt,
and the Isle of Skye, which is simply
made of lava. Staffa consists of sheets
of bedded basaltic lava, and the fa
mous Fingall’s cave is excavated from
pure lava.
Guard the Thoughts.
A man can never do anything at
variance with his nature. He carries
within him the germ of his most ex
ceptional action; and if we wise
people make fools of ourselves on any
particular occasion we must endure
the legitimate conclusion that we
carry a few grains of folly to our
ounce of wisdom. —George Eliot.
No Mystery About Them.
Poets are fond of alluding to the
picturesque tradition that pearls are
made from the dew of heaven, but
the fact of the matter is that those
milky balls just merely represent the
efforts of the oyster to cover up an
annoying grain of sand and render it
less irritating.
Atrocious, Indeed.
One of the most famous —as well as
j one of the worst —puns of history was
perpetrated by King James I of Eng
land, when Sir Walter Raleigh, whom
for political reasons he disliked, was
presented to him. Said the king, fix
ing Raleigh with his cold-enough eye,
“Rawly! Rawly! True enough, for I
think of thee very Rawly, mon!”

Rheumatism
Relief--25c.
Nature’s Remedy (NR Tablets), Are
Helping Thousands Who Tried Ex
pensive Things Without Result.
It’s Guaranteed.
There are three vital processes of
human existence,—the digestion of
food, the extraction of nourishment
from it and the elimination of waste.
Poor digestion and assimilation
means failure to derive full nourish
ment from food and that in turn often
means Impoverished blood, weakness,
anemia, elc. Foor elimination means
an accumulation of waste matter
which poisons the body, lowers vitality,
decreases the power of resistance to
disease and leads to the development
of many serious ills.
Rheumatism, —due to some inter
ference with the process of elimina
tion, failure to get rid of certain body
poison?,—cannot be expected to yield
to any medicine that fails to correct
the condition responsible for it. Could
any reasonable person expect to rid
himself of rheumatic pain as long as
rheumatic poison is allowed to remain
in the body.
Think of this. It explains the suc
cess of Natures Remedy (NR Tablets)
in so many cases where other
medicines have failed. Thousands are
using NR Tablets every day and get
ting relief. Why pay five or ten
times as much for uncertain things?
A 25c box of Nature’s Remedy (NR
Tablets), containing enough to last
twenty-five days,—must help you,
must give you prompt relief and sat
isfactory benefit or cost you nothing.
Nature's Remedy is not only for
the relief of rheumatism. It im
proves digestion, tones the liver, reg
ulates kidney and bowel action, im
proves the blood and cleanses the
system. You’ve tried the expensive
medicines and doctors, now’ make the
real test. You’ll get results this time.
Just try it. Nature’s Remedy (NR
Tablets) is sold, guaranteed and
recommended by your druggist.
