PRESTON. May 21. Recently
the School Improvement club was re
organized here, with Mrs. N. E. Bul
lock as president, Miss Foy Reese,
vice-president; Mrs. J. M. Christian,
secretary; Miss Alla Kidd, treasurer.
The constitution and by-laws were
read and adopted at the last meet
ing, and much work planned for a
year.
A new piano has been purchased
by the club, just in time for com
mencement.
Since the community is fortunate
in having a new consolidated school,
the people are alive to every oppor
tunity and are putting forth every
effort towards making Preston High
one of the very best schools >n the
s' ;• te.
Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Harper, of.
Plains, visited her mother, Mrs. J. R.
Kidd, Sunday afternoon.
Dr. and Mrs. J. F. Lunsford, Mr.
and Mrs. N. E. Bullock, Mr. and Mrs.
W. N. Fussell and son. George, form
ed a congenial party motoring to
Albany Sunday.
Mrs. J. W. Stallings, of Americus,
visited relatives here last week.
Mr. Jesse Bell’s boyhood friends
were glad to see him here last week,
from Dawson.
Dr. Guy Lunsford, of Weston, was
in town Tuesday.
Mrs. L. L. Brooßk, of Tazewell, is
here spending some time as the
guest of her brother, Rev. E. T.
Moore, while recuperating from a
recent ooeration in Plains hospital.
Miss Florence Sims will spend the
week-end in Weston.
W. E. Moreland, of Louisville, was
a recent >»uest of his sister, Mrs.
Rebecca Kidd.
M>ss Era Lott visited her parents
in Richland a few days ago.
Mrs. John Davis from Macon, is
visiting Mrs. W. H. Cosby.
Miss Lois Hartman was an attrac
tive guest of friends recently in
Coleman.
Quite a party from Buena Vista
were guests at Preston hotel one

Despite the inclement weather the
B. Y. P. U. rendered an excellent
program to an attentive congrega
tion in Plains Sunday night.

president of the Doss Rubber and
Tube company, is leaving Sunday

the demand for Ford cars and trucks i

By the first of May the figure
representing daily production were

at 101,125 cars and trucks, not in
