Move the Hook
Slowly
When you move your V 7®/'/
receiver hook up and J
down to recall the tele
phone operator, what you really do is to
turn on and off a small electric signal light
on the switchboard before her.
Os course, when you try to turn the
switchboard light on and off too rapidly,
like any other electric light, it may not.
g10w.,.
It is important, therefore, that you move
the hook slowly, so that the light will glow
and the operator will know you are trying
to attract her attention.
That’s why the quickest way to recall the
operator is to move the receiver hook up
and down slowly/

MEAT CAUSE OF
MDNEV /TROUBLE
Take a glass of Salts if your Back
hurts or Bladder bothers—Meat
forms uric acid.
I
IT f you must have v-’iir meat every day,
eat it, but flush your kidneys with salts
occasionally, says a noled authority who
trits us that meat forms uric aci 1 which
almost paralyzes the kidneys in their ef
forts to expel it from the' blood. They
become sluggish ami weaken, then you
suffer with a dull misery in the kidney
region, sharp pains in the back or sick
headache, dizziness, your stomach sours,
tongue is coated and when the weather
is l»ad you have rheumatic twinges. 'I he
urine gets cloudy, full of sediment, the
channels often got sore ami irritated,
obliging you to seek relief two qr three
time during the night.
To neutralize these irritating acids, to
cleanse the kidneys and flush off the
body’s urinous waste get four ounces of
f Jad Salts from any pharmacy here:
take a tablespoonful in a gla ■/ of
water before breakfast for a few days
i and your kidneys will then act fine. Tine
~ famous salts is made from 11m ■-i 1 of
grapes and lemon juice, combined v i‘„h

to flush and stimulate sluggish kidn- /-■.
also to neutralize the acid? in urine,

bladder weakness.
