for the low 7 .
Coaches of the west believe the
Pomona hurdler will be a national
champion in the low stick event in
| another year.
He has strong legs and runs with
tremendous power.
In the Olympic games last sum
mer Daggs was a point winner in the
440-yard hurdles.
He has beaten all the hurdlers of
the Pacific coast, including Yount
of Redlands and Wells of Stanford.
This year has been his first in col
| lege competition.
I Pomona college has turned out
j some crack athletes under the skilled
coaching of Eugene White Nixon.
Nixon was formerly an eastern
man and has ta’ken the systems of
the best coaches west with him.
Each year sees the west graduate
more star athletes.
The east no longer has a corner on
the stars of track or football.
And Moremen and'Daggs in an
other year will probably help the
i west pile up more records.
LEFT EARFUL
A man and wife will fish all day,
. And stage a family quibble.
But just depend that this will end
When either gets a nibble.
RIGHT EARFUL

He tires out in a hurry,
i And yet can play the tennis court
All dav and never worry?
