FRIENDSHIP
An enjoyable occasion was the pic
nic given in the Wooldrige pasture
Saturday. A large crowd was pres
ent to enjoy the outing as well as the
many good things to eat, the ladies
pi epared. The children enjoyed
gathering the beautiful honeysuckles
and ivey. After dinner they gathered
at the branchc to enjoy wading while
the grown-ups hid Easter eggs in the
grove for them to hunt when they
returned.
Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Kart enter
tained the ninth and tenth grade
hthool pupils Friday night. The
young people enjoyed games and mu
sic until a late hour when they were
invited into the dining room where
refreshments were served.
James and Julian Harris were vis-

Sam McGarrah is on the sick list
this week.
Miss Olive Brasington and Sara
Royal attended the picnic here Sat
urday.
Miss Clara Alexander visited home
folks for the week-end, returning to
her school at Brantley Monday morn
ing.
Mrs. Rosa McGarrah returned to
her home after spending the week
end with her daughter, Mrs. J. E.
Daniel, at Maddox.
Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Wells and chil
dern, Eleanor and Ernest, spent Sun
day very pleasantly at Doyle the
guest of Mrs. E. J. Hart.
C. W. King, of Edison, is at home
for a few days.
Mrs. Otis Wellon.s and little daugh
ter, Hilda, returned to their home
in Plains Tuesday after a visit to
her mother, Mrs. Rosa McGarrah.
Miss Mary King and Clifton Shan
non attended the play at Preston
high school Friday night.
Mrs. R. C. Wells spent Wednesday
very pleasantly with Mrs. Ida Wright.
Mrs. J. S. King, Olive King and
Mrs. R.E. Wells were in Americus

WOMAN DIES OF BURNS
FROM DROPPING KETTLE
MOULTRIE, April 22.—Mrs. J. H.
I arkerson died at her" home here yes
terday as the result of burns that
she received several days ago.
Mrs. Parkerson was at home alone
when sh«» dropped a kettle of boil
ing wafer and severely scalded her
