Mrs. Henry Lumpkin entertained her bridge club this morning at her home on Lee street. Bowls of sweet peas and spring flowers were placed on the mantel and on pedestals in the living room ■where the game was played. Miss Mary Glover won the prize for top score, a dainty handkerchief. Only the members were present, Miss Mary Glover, Miss Lois Mc- Math, Miss Mary Sheffield, Mrs. Stewart Prather, Mrs. B. F. Easter lin, Jr., and Miss Gertrude Daven port. ** * • MISS HORNE HOSTESS TO 42 CLUB. Miss Mattie Lou Horne was host ess to the Wednesday Afternoon 42 club at the home of her sister, Mrs. Willis Morgan, yesterday. In the rooms where the guests were received, sweet peas, nasturtiums and wdd lilies were used in baskets and bowls effectively. Sandwiches and punch were serv ed at the conclusion of the game by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Morgan, Miss Ethel Wells, and Mbs Sallie Gardener. Those present were Mesdames Fred Smith, George Holston, C. M. Hale, James Bynum, David Jennings, Kel iette Heys, C. C. Miss Eunice Royal has returned to Cordele after a visit of some length here to her mother, Mrs. Eugenia Royal, and brother, A. R. Royal, on Brown street. Mrs. Marvin Cooper, of Thomas ville, who has been attending grand opera in Atlanta this week will arrive today to be the guest of Mrs. Emmet McNulty, at the home of Mrs. Bar low Council. GEORGIA, Sumter County. To the Superior Court *of Said County: The petition of the Rylander Shoe company, a corporation of said coun ty, respectfully shows the following facts, to-wit: 1. That on the 12th day of July, 1902, under petition of certain named citizens and after complying with the law regarding applications for char ters, the court granted a certificate duly and legally incorporating the Rylander Shoe company. 2. That said charter has not been amended nor changed in any manner whatsoever since the date of its in corporation. 3. That it desires a renewal of its charter as set out in the original act of incorporation to date from the 12th day of July, 1922. 4. That on the 10th day of March, the board of directors of the Rylander Shoe company, in a meet ing specially convened, adopted u resolution authorizing the Rylander Shoe company to renew the charter, a certified abstract of which minutes and resolution is hereto attached, marked “Exhibit A.’’ Wherefore, petitioner having com plied with the law in such cases prays the court that its said charter be renewed and extended be ginning July 12, 1922, for a period of twenty years from said date, with all the rights, privileges and immuni ties provided in its original charter, and petitioner will ever pray.
