band headed by Dexter Jordan of Co
lumbus, and embellished by the pre
etrea of Ed O’Brien, a freshman from
Savannah, who is making a mark tn
musical circles with his violin. The
orchestra will play a dance alter the <
performance.

It is with sincere regret that the
class will lose such a good worker,
and in every way a most attractive
member ,and the good wishes of
eac hmember will follow her to her

members of her bridge club and
other friends at a lovely porch party

spur, sweet peas and coryopsis form
ing the attractive decorations.
At the conclusion of the game a
salad course was served by Mrs. Eve.
assisted by Mrs. Wm. S. Kirkpatrick,
and Mrs. L. F. Grubbs.

American Legion Auxiliary sold pop
pies on the streets of Richland Wed
nesday, in memory of the World War
boys. The proceeds, totalling S3O,
will be added to the fund for Stew
art and Webster counties’ World War
Memorial Library. The poppies
were made by the members of the
Auxiliary..
Poppies were also sold in Preston
for the benefit of the library and a
nice sum realized.
Mrs. Allen Burkhalter and little
daughter have arrived from their
home in Roanoke, Ala., to spend some
time with Dr. and Mrs. Carl W.
