The First Christian Bible school
has officially declared war on General •
Summer Slumpski. The regulars I
aie fast being organized into fighting j
groups and trained for efficient sei- ,
vice “at the front.” General Super j
N. Tendenf has also issued a call for |
volunteers as more soldiers are need- i
ed to adequately meet the enemy, i
Captains Holt and Smith are in com- :
mand of the two main divisions ui’ |
the army and the lieutenants and j
other petty officers' 1 will be chosen |
S'rnday.
General Sli rtpski makes raids on
the churches and Bible schools an
nually, so his methods of attack are .
well known to the veterans and a lit- i
lie timely advice from them will help I
to prepare the new recruits to meet
his insiduous attacks. A statement
from the Major follows:
\Well do I remember General
Slumpski and his treacherous methods
of attack. His chief treachery was i
seeking to wreck our army by the ‘
wrong use of the Lord’s day. When
our soldiers should have been on duty’ '■
he had enticed them to-go to a Sun- i
day baseball game, excursion, the
movies, joy riding and similar amuse- '
ments. Another way he has of re
tarding the army is to induce them
to spend their money for everything
else and neglect the Bible school of
sering. He further insists to our
soldiers that it is too warm during
the months of summer for Bible
school and church worship, and that
the spiritual life should rest in a dor
mant state until cooler weather and
