day afternoon at a pretty bridge par
ty, honoring her guest, Mrs. Lionel
Moses, of Evanston, 111.
The spacious rooms of the Ever
ett home were brightened with yel
low flowers and graceful sprays of
flowering pear and pink bud artisti
cally arranged in vases were placed
at intervals or. the mantels and con
soles.
Mrs. Carr Glover won the high
score prize, a lovely flowering plant,
and the honoree was presented with
dainty hand-embroidered handker
chiefs.
After the game, a salad course
with an ice and hot coffee was

I was hostess at a beautiful party,
■ having as her guests the members
pf the Tuesday Afternoon 42 club.
In the living room where the ta
bles were placed, flower jars of
bright spring flowers formed a
charming decoration, and a low bowl
of lovely rose japonicas were placed
in the center of the dining room
table.
At the conclusion of the game, a
tempting salad course with an ice
was served. *

Brownie Carter, Miss Mattie Lou

BOX SUPPER AT PLEASANT
GROVE FRIDAY NIGHT.
An enjoyable occasion of Friday
evening will be the box supper that
will be given at the Pleasant Grove
school, in the 28th district, at 7:30
o’clock by the members of the school.
An interesting musical program
has been arranged, and the proceeds
of the entertainment will be used
to equip a kitchen in the school for
the county demonstration work, un
der direction of Miss Bonnie Park
man, county home economics agent.
All friends of the school are cordially

MISSIONARY SOCIETY GUESTS
OF C. A. CULPEPPER
C. A. Culpepper entertained the
members of the Lee Street Method
ist Missionary society at his home
on Lee street Monday afternoon from
3 to 6, the occasion assembling 28
members to enjoy the program of
the afternoon.
Spring flowers were placed in love
ly French wicker baskets on mantels
and cabinets about the living rooms
where the guests were received, and
ferns and growing plants added an
attractive background.
Mrs, .C. S.Duer and Mrs. Annie
Poole Walker gave readings, and
Mrs. Cloyd Buhcanan and Mrs. Olin
Dixon rendered a number of vocal
selections.

Mr. Culpepper served a dainty plate
course, assisted by Mrs. George Van
Riper and Miss Mary Belle Van
Riper.
Mrs. Culpepper, who was enjoying
the program of entertainment, was
requested to hold a ribbon from
which appended cards bearing the
names of the members of the society,
and was asked to guess what the
surprise at the end of the string
might be. Venturing the assump
tion that a bunch of daisies was the
answer, she was presented with a
handsome cut glass vase as a gift of
the missionary society members, and
told that the occasion also celebrated
her birthday.
