MRS. MYRICK CONCLUDES
VISIT HERE TUESDAY.
Mrs. Marie Louise Myrick, who
has been the guest of Mrs. L. G. 1
Council at her home on Church I
street, and Mrs. Stuart Prather at '
the Windsor hotel for the past two!
weeks, will return to her home in
Savannah Tuesday.
During her visit in Americus, Mrs.
Myrick has been delightfully enter-

Mrs. L. G. Council, Mrs. Stuart Pra
ther and Mrs. Emmet McNulty. Be
sides these, Mrs. Myrick shared hon
ors with other visitors.
After returning to Savannah, Mrs.
Myrick will begin plans for her sum
mer trip north, she having spent a
number of months in the mountains
of Connecticut last summer, also go
ing to New York and other large
centers before returning South in
the late fall.
Mrs. Myrick has hundreds of
friends here in Americus, where she
formerly lived, who always join in
making her return visits of pleas
ure to her.

MEET WITH MRS. JOSEY.
The Council of Safety, chapter
of the Daughters of the Revolution
were delightfully entertained Tues
day afternoon by Mrs. W. J. Josey
M her home near Americus.
•The Joseys’ -attractive home was
never lovelier than on this occasion,
with quantities of roses, larkspur,
sweet peas and other fragrant gar
den flowers filling flower baskets
and wall pockets, forming a charm
ing decoration for the living room
and solarium where the guests were
entertained.
A brief business session was held,
at which officers for the next year
were elected. Mrs. Howell Elam was
elected regent and Mrs. Walter Ry
lander, treasurer.
Following the business session,
ice Cream was served and large sil-
I ver platters of home-made cake was

ice. Compotes of salted nuts and
grapefruit glace were placed on the
small tables.

A lovely partly of Tuesday after
noon was that at which Mrs, Taylor
Lewis was hostess at her home on
College street, having as her guests
the members of her bridge club and
a few qutside friends.
Wicker hanging baskets and floor
vases filled with quantities of beau
tiful larkspur intermingled with
sweet peas and bowls of poppies and
roses added, to the attractiveness of
the front porch where the tables
were arranged for bridge.
Dainty French lingerie ornaments
were awarded to Mrs. Eugene Cato,
who made highest score.
At the conclusion of the game,
strawberry ice cream with delicious
home-made cake and iced punch
were served.

ALBANY, May 16.—Nearly $lO,-

stated yesterday. Mr. Tarver said

IN ALBANY QUALIFIES
ALBANY, May 16.—Albany has
’ her third Eagle Scout Philip von

; the Court of Honor, having won his

today receiving the congratulations
of his friends on his excellent rec
ord.
•Philip is only 16 and has done
fine work as a scout ever since he
became a member. He is the son ol
Mr. and Mrs. H. J. von Weller, on
1 Broad street, and is a member of
I Troop 3, with Jake Ventulett and
H. M. Mills, scoutmasters.
