'Io the Registered, Qualified Voters
of the Andersonville School Dis-
trict of said County:
Notice is hereby given that we,
the undersigned, Trustees of said
school district having received a pe
tition signed by more than one-fourth
of the qualified voters of the said
district praying that we call an elec
tion to submit; the qualified voters
of said district, the question of
whether or not bonds shall be issued,
the proceeds of said bonds to be used
to build and equip a school house for
the said district, and
Tthat in accordance with law, we,
the Trustees, at our last meeting pas
t’d a resolution calling the said elec
tion to be held on the 21st day of
May, 1923, at the school house in
Andersonville, Georgia, in said dis
trict for the purpose of determining
whether or not bonds shall be issued
for the purpose of building and equip
ping a school house for said district
the amount of said bonds to be twelve
thousand ($12000.00,) dollars princi
pal, and to bear interest from date at
rate of five and one-half (5 1-2)
per cent per annum, payable on the
Ist day of January each and every
year after issue. Said bonds to be
known as the. Andersonville School'
District Bonds, for school house, said
bonds to be of the denomination of
five hundred ($500.00) dollars each,
and all of said bonds to bear date of
July 2, 1923, the first bond to be
come due on January 1, 1925, and
one on the first day of January of
each succeeding year, until all of the
Baid bonds arp due and payable, the
last bond being due twenty-four year
from the date first bond is due. In
terest due on said bonds to be repre
sented by coupons attached to said
bonds as long as that bond may run
at the rate aforesaid, the first cou
pon on each of the said bonds to be
come due on the Ist day of January.

each subsequent coupon to be for the
num of $27.50, so long as the bond
may run which represents Ait* in
terest on each bond to be paid an
nually. Each voter voting for the
eaid bonds shall have written or print
ed on,his ballot “For School House.”
and those voting against said bonds
shall have written or printed on their
ballot “Against School House.” If
the said bonds are authorized said
Trustees, before same are sold and
validated, will provide properly for
the assessment, levy and collection
of an annual tax remaining upon all
taxable property in said district to
raise a sum each year sufficient to
pay the principal and interest on
said bonds as it is due, (and said
Trustees reserve the right to sell ten
thousand ($10,000.00 dollars of
these bonds, and then sell the remain
ing bonds as they see fit.)
This notice is given and published
as provided and directed in an order
of the Board of Trustees calling said
election and entered on the Minutes
of said Board of Trustees. This, the
20th dav of April. 1923.

The petition of Glover Grocery
Company , a corporation of said
county, respectifuily shows the fol
lowing facts, towit: ■
FIRST.
That on the 13th day of May,
1903, G. W. Glover, et al., filed pe
tition with the Clerk of the Superior
Court of Sumter County, Georgia,
in which they prayed to be inco
porated in the name of Glover Groc
ery Company; and on the 13th day
of June thereafter, after said ap
plication was duly advertised as re
quired by law, the Judge of the Su
perior Court of Sumter County
Georgia, granted an order incorporat
ing petitioners in the name oi Glover
Grocery Company for a period of
twenty years.
SECOND.
That it was originally incorporated
to engage in the general wholesale
mercantile business, to include job
bing and commission business, with
a capital stock of $50,000.00, with
the privilege of increasing its capi
tal in a sum not to exceed $250,-
000.00, upon a majority vote of its
stock.
THIRD.
That 011 the 3rd day of February,
1905, at a stockholders meeting its
capital stock was increased to $75,-
000.00, and on January 27th, 1906,
the capital stock was increased to
$100,000.00, each increase being au
thorized by a majority vote of the
stock, as provided in its original
charter.
FOURTH'.
Petitioner would show that its
present charter will expire on the
13th day of June, 1923, and it now
desires a renewal of its original
charter, with all the rights, privileges
and immunities therein contained,
and provided for an additional term
of twenty years, beginning on the
13th day of June, 1923.
FIFTH.
Petitioner would show that at
tached hereto is a certified * copy
of a resolution adopted at a stock
holder’s meeting of the Glover Groc
ery Company, held in its office on
the sth day of May, 1923, authoriz
ing the officers of this Company to
proceed to procure renewal of the
charter for an additional period of
twenty years, which copy is marked
“Exhibit A”.
WHEREFORE, petitioner respect,
fully prays that this Honorable
Court grant an order renewing peti
tioner’s charter for an additional
period of twenty years, commenc
ing on the 13th day of June, 1923,
with all the rights, privileges and
immunities as stated and as con
tained in its original charter; and
it will ever pray.

PETITION TO RENEW CHARTER.
GEORGIA, Sumter County:
To the Superior Court of Said
coliqty: •
The petition of Frank Lanier,
Hollis Lanier and Charles Lanier,
and their associates, all residents of
the State of Georgia, respectfully
show the following facts:
FIRST.
That on April 16th, 1890 on peti
tion to the Superior Court of Sum
ter county, Georgia, of S. H. Haw
kins, et ah, an order was passed by
said Court incorporating petitioners
under the name and style of the
Americus Grocery Company.
SECOND.
That thereafter, during the month
of November, 1901, upon proper pe
tition of the corporation itself, an
order was passed amending . the
charter of said Company.
THIRD.
That during the month of Novem
ber, 1919, by proper resolution of
the Company, Frank Lanier, its
president, was authorized and di
rected to make an application for a
renewal and extension of the charter
of the Americus Grocery Company;
and, after duly advertising, an order
was passed by the Judge of the su
perior Court granting such exten
sion.
NOW, THEREFORE, in order to
perpetuate the charter for the period
named in said extension, and to re
incorporate the Company in the
same name, and for the same period
as originally granted, petitioners and
their associates desire now to be
incorporated under the name and
style of the Americus Grocery
Company, for the period of twenty
years, with all rights of renewal at
the expiration thereof.
FOURTH
The object of said corporation is
pecuniary gain and profit to its
stockholders.
FIFTH
The business to be maintained ar
transacted by said corporation is
principally that of a wholesale gro?
ery business, with the right to buy
and sell all classes of merchan
dise usually handled by such grocery
companies; to do a jobbing and com
mission business; to buy, own and
sell real estate; to borrow and loan
monpy; to make contracts for the
purpose of the transaction of any
character of business it desires to
engage in; to have and use a com
mon seal; to sue and be sued; to
plead and be impleaded; and to do
and perform all other acts incident
io the operation and transaction oi
such business.
SIXTH.
The principal office and place of
business of said corporation will be
in the city of Americus, Sumter
County, Georgia; but it prays the
right to establish, and maintain of
fices and places of business at such
other places as it may desire.
SEVENTH.
The capital stock of said Corpora
ion shall be Fifty Thousand Dol
lar.-, divided into shares of One
Hundred Dollars each, all of which
a s been actually paid in; but it de
sires the right, by a majority vote
of its stock at any call or regular
meeting of stockholders to increase
its capital stock not to exceed
$500,000.00.
EIGHTH'.
Petitioners pray that said corpora
tion may have the right to adopt
by-laws providing for the elect.on
of directors and officers, and the
promulgation of such rules as they
may deem proper for the transaction
of the business to be engaged in.
WHEREFORE, petitioners pray
that they, be incorporated in the
name and style of the Americus
Grocery Company, as aforesaid, with
all the rights, privileges and immuni.
