CHARMING HOSTESSES AT
GOLF CLUB TUESDAY
A brilliant event of Tuesday af
ternoon was the bridge and forty
two party at which Mrs. Will Green
Turpin and Mrs. Walter Rylander
were joint hostesses, entertaining
at the Americus Golf club.
The spacious club rooms were
thrown open to the guests on this
occasion and quantities of garden
flowers were used effectively in dec
orating. Pink hydrangeas, blue
hydrangeas and tall spikes of ex
quisite gladioli fiilled baskets, wall
pockets and floor vases. Vari-eol
ored garden flowers were used in
profusion.
Mrs. Harry Hawkins won the
bridge prize, which was a congress
card case, containing two attractive
decks of cards, and Mrs. E. L. Cars
well won the forty-two prize, a
beautiful white feather fan.
Mrs. Turpin wore a * handsome
gown of light grey chiffon, beauti
fully embroidered in steel beads.
Mrs. Rylanders’ lovely ' costume
was of apricot georgette, elaborate
ly beaded in crystal design, and
with it she wore a becoming leghorn
hat.
At the conclusion of the game de
licious ice cream and cake, carrying
out the color scheme of green and
pink, was served. Dainty pink sweet
peas placed on the plate added to
the attractiveness of the refresh
ments.

WOMAN’S MISSIONARY
SOCIETY TO MEET.
Announcement is made that the
Woman’s Missionary society will
hold its regular meeting Tuesday
afternoon, June 19th, at Hebron
Baptist church, the hour of be
ginning being 3 o’clock.
Important matters will come up
for disesusion, and it is urged that
every member be present to par
ticipate in the program.
The society has done splendid
wu>rk since the beginning of the
year, and it is anticipated that
must good result, will come of
the June meeting.
