, The Disease That Strikes Like
Lightning
Beware of indigestion—the dis
ease that kills more people and
kills them quicker than any other.
This warning, by physicians, is par
ticularly applicable this season of
the year, when yo.ur system “lets
down” in tone and vigor with the
first approach of warm weather.
What are the warnings that na
ture gives vou of the approach of
indigestion? The medical books tell
us: 1. Gas, which means that your
food is fermenting instead of di
gesting. 2. A feeling of fullness or
•oppression in! the region of
ach after eating. This means that
the gas has ballooned your stom
ach and is pressing up against your
heart and lungs. 3. A dull, lazy
feeling, which means that you are
not getting the nourishment from
what you are eating. 4. Restlessness,
unrefreshing sleep, which means
that the poisons of indigestion are
disturbing your brain and nerves.
5. Sometimes, pain and fluttering
' around the heart, though this symp
tom may com later.
Don’t take chances with indiges
tion—you are too apt to lose. If you
have had any of the symptoms men
tioned above, get your digestive
organs to work at once with Dan-

THE AMERICUS TIMES-RECORDER
The opponent drops his approach
shot into a sand, trap at tne edge
of the green, but before he starts
to play his ball out goes over the
green and brushes aside the leaves
and twigs with his club that fall in
his line of putting. Then he walks
in his putting -line and presses
down the ground around the cup
with his foot. Is he permitted to
remove these objects while he is
yet off the green and unable to
use the putter? Is the opponent al
lowed to pass the ground the cup
to improve his lie?
JSefore the opponent starts to
roll his ball up to the cup from
the trap he is permitted to remove
any loose impediments which may
lie in his line of putt on the green.
are supposed to remove such
impediment by hand. If you are re
moving any such impediment from
within six inches of the ball you
are penalized one stroke. The
ground in front of yoyr ball must
not be pressed down with any
weight greater than that of your
club.
What would be the ruling if the
ball, when driven from tjhe tee
would strike and become entangl
ed in the mowing machine which is
cutting the fairwaf' and carried
away?
Should the ball become lodged
in the machine such as this or any
thing moving across the fairway,
and carried away, you may drop
a ball from the spot where it came
in contact with the machine. There
is no penalty.
