| Plates Laid for Fifty at Weekly
Luncheon at Tea Room With
Players, Directors Guests
Members of the Americus base
ball team and the managing direc
tors of the baseball assoieution were
guests Tuesday at the weekly
luncheon of the Lions club at the
Sign of the I’ine Tea Room. En
tertainers present were Miss Ros
sie Andrews, who gav ea readnig;
Miss Melva Clark, who sang for
the club members and their guests;
Mrs. J. W. Harris, Jr., and Mrs.
Ames, who assisted in the program
with a number of songs.
One of the most attractive fea
tures of the luncheon was the j
manner in which the ball tosser.s,
caught the spirit of the occasion,
all of them joining heartily in the I
singing of the club -ongs, while a !
number of Lions who had been j
apparently tongue-tied for months j
responded to calls with excellent I
talks. A number of helpful and
inspiring talks were also made by j
the members of the team, and the ;
luncheon was the most enjoyable
held in months by the club.
Very few of the autos left at
home on Sunday afternoon are
able to run at all. i
