RAILWAY SURGEONS
TO MEET IN fflffl
Dr. J. G- Dean, of Dawson, Will
Preside Over Deliberations of
Association Wednesday
ATLANTA, Aug. 14.—A crowd
ed program is promised for the one
day meeting here tomorrow of rail
way surgeons from throughout the
state. Approximately 150 surgeons
are expected to be in attendance
at the meeting, which in addition
to the routine business to be trans
t acted, will run through several dis
cussions of subjects peculiar to the
surgeons’ work.
Surgeon J. G. Dean, of Dawson,
president of the Railway Associa
tions of Georgia, is scheduled to
call the meeting to order at 9:30,
which will be followed by an invoca
tion and address of welcome by
Mayor W. A. Sims, of Atlanta, and
Surgeon A. G. Fort, in behalf of
the railway surgeons here. Surgeon
Cleveland Thompson, of Millen,
Ga., is to deliver the response.
Before the meeting is adjourned
for luncheon a general discussion
of foreign transportation will take
place. Election and installation of
officers and selection of the next
meeting place are scheduled for
near the close of the session.
The afternoon is to be devoted to
a broad range of discussions by sev
eral speakers.

Miss Bonnie Parkman with a
number of her canning club girls
spent Friday at the home of Miss
Dora Belle Pilcher teaching the
girls to make pickles.
Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Pilcher
spent one day the past week with
her sister Mrs. Tom Jones at
Plains.
Miss Ruth Wadsworth, of Macon,
is visiting her aunt, Mrs. J. D. Al
britton.
Miss Bonnie Parkman spent the
day at Miss Susie Belle Jordan’s
last Saturday, assisting the cann
ing club girls with their work.
Shiloh Sunday school enjoyed a
picnic at Myrtle Springs last
Thursday.
Mrs. R. F. Bell visited her sister,
Mrs. Gardiner and Mrs. Cleve Bell
the past week at Concord.
Mrsf. W. C. Jordan and family
spent 'last Sunday very, pleasantly
with Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Glenn.
Miss Lois Pilcher returned to
her home here Sunday after a very
pleasant, visit of tow weeks in-
Jacksonville, Fla.
Miss Ruth Wadsworth, Miss Mary
Annie Short and Clarence Short,
was the guests of Miss Evelyn Wel
lons Sunday.
Mrs. R. L. Pilcher had as guests
Sunday. Mrs. Cleve Bell and chil
dren, Mrs. Gardiner and son, Mrs.
R. F .Bell and baby daughter.
Miss Bertha Jones returned to
her home Sunday after a delight
ful visit of several days with Miss
Dora Bell Pilcher.
Mrs. Dollie Cheek was a shopper
in Americus Tuesday.
Mrs. Essie Beckwith and children
spent Monday with her mother, in
Americus, Mrs. W. S. Bell.
Miss Agnes Daniels spent last
Week with Mrs. J. A. Daniels.
