“THE SILENT PARTNER”
IS CLEVER PICTURE.
What is declared an unusually,
clever Paramount picture, "The
Silent Partner,” with Leatrice Joy
twen Moore and Robert Edeson, is
the attraction at the Rylander
Theatre on Wednesday.
Miss Joy, as Lisa Coburn, finds
that her husband is speculating in
the stock market and tells him that
as long as he wins she will stick by
him, but when he loses he loses her
—this, not because she does not
love him, but rather, to save him
from himself, because the young
wife has seen a sad example in a
friend, a successfulu young man,
who gave up a good position to
speculate, only to meet with dis
aster.
Coburn s success and Lisa
takes advantage of this by making
him give her much money for ex
pensive gowns, pearls and the .like.
But instead of spending the money,
Lisa deposits it in a bank. Thus
when the crash comes she is pre
pared.
AIJ goes well until, through ac
cident, Coburn comes upon all the
evidence of his wife’s evident dup
licity in her writing desk. He will
not listen to her explanations and
leaves —only to be reunited with
his wife when both confess their
mutual short-comings.
