VERA CRUZ, Jan. 2.—General
Figueroa, in the state of Guerrero,
anJJ’General Fstrada in the state of
Jalisco, are advancing on Mexico
City and seriously menacing the
railroad from Tampico to Laredo,
according to a statement given out
at Revolutionary headquarters here
today.
According to the authorities, Gen
eral Cavazos also has been success
ful. in his advance on Pachuca, in
the state of Hidalgo.

WAYCROSS,, Jan. 2. The
Waycross office of the State High
way Department announced Thurs
day that an appropriation of SIOO,-
000 had been secured for construc-
• tion work on the Waycross-Bruns
wick Road, and that actual con-
1 struction would begin on this road
• early in 1924.
With the commencement of work
on this road, every important road
leading into Waycross will uc un
dergoing improvement, and that
will mean every important road in
the county will be in splendid shape
by the end of the year.

MACON, Jan. 2.—Two hundred
and eleven criminal cases have been
placed on the calendar of Bibb Su
perior Court for trial at the Novem-

terest are listed.

of forgery of warehouse papers.

FARMERS’ WEEK PLANS
ARE NOW COCMPLETED
ATHENS, Jan. 2.—What Geor
gia agriculture does in 1924 will
■ depend in a large measure on the
Farmer’s Week conference which
will be held at the State College
of Agriculture here Jan. 21-26 it is
pointed out, by those who have ar
ranged the program which was an
nounced today.
Dr. Andrew M. Soule, president
I of the State College of Agriculture,
' declares the Farmer’s Week, next
month will be a ‘program of ac
complishment.” It is the purpose
of the farmers of the program to
take up where the agriculture de
velopment left off at the end of
this year and carry on until Geor
gia has a system of farms which
will not only be self-sustaining but
productive of marketable products
which can be shipped throughout
the country.
The conference will bring to the
State College not only the agricul
tural leaders from all parts of this
States, including representatives
from the State College, State De
partment of Agriculture and indi
vidual successful farmers and voca
