The two Societies, Ciceronians and
Lamba-Sigma, met Friday afternoon
in their respective rooms to elect
officers. The following officers
were elected to serve for three
months. Those for the Lamba-Sig
ma group being President, Ruth
Harvey, vice president, Daniel
Bradley; secretary, Ruth Dupree;
program committee. Ethel Barrow
Edith Clifton, and Duke Daughtry;
'those on the Ciceronians being:
president, Emory Cocke; vie presi
dent. Hugo Bradley; secretary Tera
Kinard; program committee, Miss
Martha Weir; Evelyn Rnew, and
. Sarah Lee Ryals,
f Miss Gladys Taylor one of the
High school teachers has been out
of school for more than a week on
account of illness it is expected she
will be able to return to her work
in a few days.
Miss Sue Belle Cox, who spent
the holidays in Fla., with her par
ents returned to her teaching Mon
day. She has the children of the
second grade and the classes in Do
mestic Science. ■■
We regret very much the loss of
one of our school friends, Maggie
Ford whose marriage with Mr. A. B.
Perry occured recently.
Rev. and Mrs. H. J. Johnson
spent the week-end at Oglethorpe
v»here Rev. Johnson went to fill his
appointment with the Oglethorpl
Baptist church.
Mrs. T. J. Wade will leave Friday
for Macon where she will visit rel
atives for a couple of weeks.
J. D. Bolton who is with the
Smithville Bank, visited his parents
here last week.
Miss Addie Laramore of Leesburg
is spending the week with her sister
Mis. Horace Derisco.
Rev. J. p. Daughtry spent several
days last week in Alabama on busi
ness. ,
Mrs. Parrott Poole and children
of Americus spent Monday here
visiting her sister, Mrs. H. G. Black
shear.
Mrs.. George DeLoach of N.'C,
who visited Mrs. A. T. Johnson last
week left Saturday to visit relatives
near Plains before returning to her
home. •
Mrs. B. J| Ranew spent Tuesday
in Americus the guest of Mrs. L.
M. Hawkins.
Mi’s. G. A. Deavours who was
sick last week we are glad to learn
is able to be upon again.
Mrs. H. L. Speer was appointed
by the Sunday school Sunday to
attend the Sunday school convention
that will asemble in Atlanta this
week.
