Services With Interment in
Lebanon Cemetery
M>'*. C. B. Mangum, about 65
years, of ng<-, tiled at the family res
idence near Plains Tuesday after
noon at 6 o'clock, death following
an illness of three weeks, due to
pneumonia and other complications
The funeral was held this after
noon at 2:30 o’clock from the Meth
odist church in Plains, of which Mrs.
Mangum had long been a member.
Kev. O. L. Evans, pastor of the con
gregation, conducted the obsequies
which were largely atended, and in
terment was in Lebanon cemetery.
I Mrs. Mangum is survived by her
B husband and several grown sons
and daughters residing in various
parts of the county and state.
Although she had been in failing
health for some time past, her con
dition was not regarded as serious
until pneumonia developed, her
h art being too weak to resist the
ravanges of the disease. He was well
known and widely loved by friends
and acquaintances in her commun,
ity, and her passing has caused wide
spread regret.
Mrs. C. B. Mangum who j was
formerly Miss Mariah Emma Hardy
was born in Upson county, Gu„-
May. 9, 1859, and became Mrs.
Mangum Dec. 23, 1881. She moved
with her family to Plains, in Decem
ber 1919. The deceased was con
certed while a young lady and join
ed the Baptist church at that time.
In 1915 she joined the Methodist
church with her husband and at the
time of her was a member of
the Plains MethodiSt church.
Surviving Mrs. Mangum are the
husband; the following children, .1.
W., Mrs. C. W. Elrod, Hr G., Mis.-.
Maud, Mrs. U. L. Couch, F. G.. Mrs.
.1. W. Williamson, Charlie Glenn and
four brothers and three sisters.
