Clubs throughout Alabama and

The ‘‘Business Men’s Evangelis

| days and at other times members of
I the Club take charge of different
11 kinds of Christian activities, -and
>t is said that the Club not only
I promotes wonderful fellowship
i among the members of different
churches but gets all of the mem
bers working together and through
their work and influence a great
deal of good has been accomplished
Ministers are not allowed to be
come members of the clubs as it is
purely a laymen’s movement but in
all cities where there are these
clubs the ministers bear testimony
to the fact that the. evangelistic club
are the minister’s best aid and it is
said that the men who belong to the
evangelistic clubs become the best
in their individual church
es.
The Columbus Club has a mem
bership of about fifty, divided into
five teams with a captain over each
team and ordinarily the teams go
out to different places and hold
services and where a pastor has to
be out of the city or there is no
pastor for a Church they always
stand willing to help out in any
way possible.
There are enthusiastic clubs in
Buena Vista, Ellaville and Lump
kin that were formed through the
influence of the Columbus Club.
j On Sunday afternoon the Colum
bus Club with representatives from
a number of other Clubs are coming
to Americus to’ hold services and
explain something about how these
clubs work and the influence they
have in a community and it is hoped!
that the good people of Americus!
will turn out in large numbers to |
attend this meeting.
MANY GRADES OF
EGGS IN ENGLAND
LONDON, February 15. —Eggs
are not just eggs here, and for a
housewife to replenish her supply
of the breakfast staple by merely
ordering a dozen eggs, as is the
American custom, would dismay an
English shopkeeper.
Eggs are nicely graded and classi
fied, and shops display them! in bins
with descriptive legend sattached.
There arc cooking eggs, imported
eggs, Irish eggs, local new laid eggs,
preserved eggs, breakfast eggs, Sur
rey new laid eggs, fresh eggs, local
fresh eggs, local farmhouse eggs,
pullets' eggs, extra large eggs,
ducks’ eggs (local), and ducks’
eggs (farmhouse). They range in
price from forty to ninety cents a
dozen.
Millions of eggs are imported an
nually from China, and there is al
ways a possibility of adventure for
the bored housekeeper in opening
one of these imported products.

yet named) acres of gladioli (the
‘ruffleds’ form the largest class

well, the days will soon be open to
potter about a little, and clear
away the wind-accumualted debris
of winter.
Shall it be vegetables" this year—
and to what extent? That is always
a vital question. Even the most
trifling gardener, expects to grow a
bit of lettuce, rown by the rhu
barn clump which grows itself.
Tomatoes, too—save a decent space
for the tomato plants.
Perhaps you will change your
mind by spring and turn your yard
into a putting green; or keep a dog.
But never mind, ponder the rosy
catalogues and plan the garden.
It’s great stuff for February days.
