SATURDAY AFTERNOON, NOVEMBER 28, 1925 i , SANBORN-MILAN Mr. and Mis, William H. Sanborn announce the engagement of their daughter, Lynnie, to Mr. Roy Milan of Tampa, Fla. The marriage to be solemnized December -the 30, First Baptist Church. The above announcement will be read with interest by a wide circle of friends here, the bride-elect hav ing lived here all her life. She is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. VV 11. Sanborn and is a graduate of the Agricultural School of Americus. Miss Sanborn is a pop ular member of the younger set, and enjoys a wide popularity in the social and church work of the city, she is an earnest worker in the B. Y. P. U. of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Milan is a prominent young man of Tampa, being in the mercan tile and real estate business. SA UNDERS-FERG US ON Mr. and Mrs. Saunders of Los An geles, California, announces the mar riage of her daughter, Florence, to Mr, Howard H. Ferguson. The wedding took place Saturday evening November 7th at the home of the brides parents, 4831 West 18 Place. They will make their home in~Los Angeles. Mr. Ferguson is the son of Mr. G. R. Ferguson of Leslie, Ga., he :has a position with the Hudson-Essex In corporation in Los Angeles. * * w MRS DYKES :EN'I*RRTAIN Y S AT BEAUTIFUL BRIDGE LUNCHEON Mrs. W. W. Dykes at her lovely resident on College Street, was hos tess at a beautiful bridge luncheon Friday afternoon, when she enter tained in honor of Miss Lucile Mc- Donald the guest of Mrs. Lovelace Eve. The home was decorated in chry santhemums and autumn leaves and a most delightful hot luncheon was served the guest. Mrs, Dykes presented Miss Mc- Donald, Miss Hunter and Mrs. Bates of Atlanta with lovely corsages f gold roses. Mrs. C. O. Niles won the high score prize, w’hich was a beautiful hand embroidered towel. *■ « * MRS GOOLSBY HOSTESS AT BRIDGE AND FORTY-TWO PARTY TUESDAY P. M. One of the loveliest parties of the season was given on Tuesday after noon when Mrs. John Goolsby enter tained at nine tables of bridge and forty-two. The lovely living room of the Goolsby home was attractively dec orated in beautiful yellow, white and bronze chrysanthemums which were raised in the flower garden of the hostess, and which made a lovely setting for the many players. After a most enjoyable afternoon of bridge and forty two an elabor ate turkey dinner was served. WOMAN’S AUXILIARY MEETS WITH MRS. BLAND MONDAY The Woman’s Auxiliary of The Presbyterian Church will meet with Mrs, E. A. Bland Monday afternoon at three o’clock. The Society Will at this time pack a box for Nacoc hee, four questions in the Bible Study will be given. All members are urged to bring their Bibles and Study books. ♦ * • MRS. Worrell, of Cobb, which was sol i emnized at the pastoriun. Wednes | day evening at 7 o’clock, came as a ! pleasant surprise to their many friends. Rev. J. S. Winn performed the ceremony. The living room of the pastorium was tastily decorated for the occasion with bowls and vases of cut flowers and ferns. The bride wore a striking model of petunia colored Elizabeth crepe trimmed with georgette, effectively embroidered in silver. Her hat was a smart shape in black satin with touches of silver. The few invited to witness the happy nuptial were Mr. Ralph Grant, of Cobb; Mr. Olin Deavours, Miss Marilou Bailey, of Flintside; Miss Frances Deriso, Miss Bessie Sims a cousin of the bride, Miss Francis Sims, the bride’s sister, and Mrs. J. S’. Winn. The bride is a young iady of fine Christian character who was reared in Leslie and her friends are happy | that her marriage does not take her very far from their midst. Mr. Worrell is a business man of sterling qualities and has many friends throughout the county.
