We learn from B. C. Williams, of Poin dexter, that a person by tbo name of 11. L. Manns drew (50.00 a few days ago. through a lorged paper from the house of JobnF. Lewis Jb San, Monlezumn. The names forged to the paper were B. C. Williams, J. W. Souder, of Macon county, and It. L. Ethridge, of Schley county. Mr. Williams says Manns had no visible menus ot support, and for the last six months bad been loitering around Auder- aonville, pretending to bo a prtaeher, and at times filling variant pulpit* in the ooantry. We learned that Manna could only write hit name, and that the forged signatures were made for him by a little boy who was innocent of any wrong doing. Manns is still at large. A Delightful Party. One of the most delightful occasions we ever attended was the sociable and bop given at the borne of Mr. IL B. Haynu'a near this city. On Tuesday oveningat 7t». it., about ten couples of the belles end beaux of the oity left for the home of Mr. Haynes, about six miles distant. Arriv ing there after a delightful moonlight drive of an hour, we were cordially wel comed by the handsome lmst and bis fair sisters, who seemed to vio with eueli other in the generous attentions shown their guests. After a few moments lieforu two roaring fires the music struck up. and the dancing began, which wns con tinued until u lato hour, interspersed with many games both iu and out of doors; games that we nil indulged in aa little children, and though almost for gotten, readily came hack to our mem ories with a little practice, and were more heartily enjoyed than ever of yore. At eleven o’eloek wo were all invited into the sapper room, where an a long table were piled dishes and plates of steaming molueses candy,Jwhich was dexterously palled by the ladies for tbemselveg and their gallants. After another long linger ing snd protracted dance the crowd dis persed, eaoh carrying in liia or her heart only the fondest reoollections of tho oc casion which wns nnnnimonsly voted the happiest of their lives.
