most of our people arc down in the
moutli.
As for my old friend wbo wants

will say that I have been on n boom
the past live weeks,hauling lumber
-and splitting rails. I have had
.about 16,000 rails split in the short
time of lour weeks and have put up
a house 32x25 feet, and have had
no time to write you. lint I will
try ami make up all lost time.

in Texas, I 4 will try and encourage
him all I can. I think he is too
much like myself—has too many
corners to look after to be a regular
correspondent. His letter brought
up the good old limes before the
war, when with gun and dogs wc
made it lively for rabbits,squirrels
