THE AMERICUS WEEIvL TlMES-RECOh DER: FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 1S91.
It's
t s a sign
that yon need help, when pimples,
blotches, and eruptions begin to ap
pear. Your blood needs looking
after. You’ll have graver matters
than pimples to deal with, if you
neglect it. Dr. Pierce’s Golden
Medical Discovery prevents and
cures all diseases and disorders
caused by impure blood. It invig
orates the liver, purifies the blood,
and promotes all the bodily func
tions. For all forms of scrofulous,
skin and scalp disease, and even
Consumption (which is really lung-
scrofula) in all its earlier stages, it
is a certain remedy. It’s the only
one that’s guaranteed, in every case,
to benefit or cure, or the money is
refunded. It’s a matter of confi
dence in one’s medicine.
It is tho cheapest blood-purifier
sold, through druggists, because you
only pay for the good you get.
Can you ask more ?
The “ Discovery ” acts equally
well all the gear round.
This is the way
with the Ball corset: if you
want ease and shapeliness,
you buy it—but you don’t
keep it unless you like it.
After two or three weeks’
wear, you can return it and
have your money.
Comfort isn’t all of It
though. Soft Eyelets, and
"bones” that can’t break or
kink—Ball’s corsets have
both of these.

i “NO FENCE!” IN WEBSTER COUNTY.
j Victory For the Land Ownera-Cattle Ow ti
er* .Must Watch Their Stock
••Fence,” or “Xo Fence?” was the
question that came up Wednesday last
; in Webster county. This is a very old
tight in Georgia, and every now and
, again it breaks out in some new spot.
| < >n this occasion Webster county was
| the scene of hostilities: and at the
close of the polls the record stood: “No
j Fence,” -'40; “Fence,” 21. Accordingly
| the Ordinary has declared that “No
I Fence” is the law hereafter.
This is what appears on the surface,
and this is the legal result of the legal
ized votes cast. But there is another
side to this story, namely:
The advocates of the “Fence” law,
unfortunately for them, were apparent
ly Ignorant of the law in regard to the
wording of their ballots. Instead of the
legal word “Fence” only on their tick
ets, they had printed two words, “For
Fence,” which mad3 them illegal bal
lots. Consequently, those ballots so
printed, with the words “For Fence,”
were thrown out, much to the astonish
ment and disgust of those who intended
to vote “Fence.”
Just how many of these illegal ballots
were thrown out, nobody knows; but it
is claimed that even if the “Fence-ites”
had used legal ballots, it would have
made no difference as they were in a
clear minority in the county.
And now the conundrum is, “Who did
this thing ?” Who deceived these Web-
sterians in this cunning fashion ? Was
It an accident, or ignorance, or design ?
At this distance from the scene of
action, it is impossible to guess anything
about It; but one thing is quite clear—
the voters who were thus deceived in
the wording of their ballots will, in
future, see to it that some one learned
in the law will steer them in the straight
and narrow way which leads to victory—
if they have the votes to win.
